Quaint and adorable country museum with some really surprising history! Pittsburg has a lot more recognizable names than I’d realized and this little museum surprised me. Our tour guide Jean was friendly and kept the tour interesting for myself and my 2 kids, ages 8 & 11. When we camp, my daughter loves to go to historical sites and museums and she really enjoyed this one. The airship replica is super cool. The museum is bigger than it looks, and well worth the money and time to make a pit stop here.

We really enjoyed our time and learned a lot at the Museum and Homestead. If you want to learn about the history and life of rural East Texas the NorthEast Texas Rural Heritage Museum is the place to go! You’ll take a deep dive into what life was like back then and as a lover of history and East Texas we can’t recommend it enough. In the photo is Mr. Henderson who was so kind to take us through the Homestead portion of the tour. I forgot her name but our guide at the Museum was super wonderful!

Giving two stars because I think it would have been great…. Would have been. $10 a person. Family of three would have been $30! For a little small town museum. Sad. I love museums and would gladly pay a small fee and I always donate when they are free, but hard to put out $30 for the three of us and unsure of what would be inside. Disappointed.

I recently hosted a Celebration of Life in the Ezekiel Room at the Northeast Texas Rural Heritage Museum, and I cannot say enough positive words about the event space. Many guests commented on the beauty, tranquility, and comfort of the venue. Having tables and chairs available for use was a convenient benefit. When I first considered where to have this very meaningful event, this was the place I could most imagine my family gathering, and it proved to be every bit as special as I had imagined. Having the Ezekiel Airship overhead makes this venue especially unique and memorable for your guests. I would encourage anyone to choose this space for any...

Really enjoyed this museum. We learned a great deal about rural living in East Texas. Our guide from the Homestead portion grew up as part of the family and had many personal stories to share with us. It us a treasure to learn first hand from a pioneer family. Donna was our guide for the museum portion and was very friendly. You will be surprised at how many "celebrities" are from this area and made significant contributions from automobile innovators like Shelby, to opera, aeronautics and medicine....
