Time honored tradition abounds with the historic district of the town, and the tasty, delicious, greasy, dependable "old-fashioned" time honored Pittsburg TX hot links, still served with a flare on a piece of waxed paper with hot-link based chili and crackers! The traditional time honored hot sauce is available for the palate loving more heat, but oldersters and youngsters alike gather at the "picnic-style tables and counters to reminiscence and enjoy those awesome, probably-not-so-healthy delectable links loved so much by our ancestors from decades and decades of our past. Don't leave the Pittsburg TX area without eating this treat in it's original location in the downtown area. Beware of other stores advertisement them on the menu, because part of the delicious ambience is location and the original location's ability to serve up this taste of history in it's original...

Read if you've never tried hot links

First let me say the people seemed nice enough, and my service was fine. The line was a little slow, but nothing crazy. So, if customer service is your only concern, I'd say give it a try. The hot sauce was pretty good, and I ended up buying a bottle. I did not order anything other than the hot links and the chili. I wish I had so I could give them a better informed review in terms of their entire menu.

But the hot links... Hot links might be the worst thing I've ever eaten. No flavor other than grey beef and water, with the texture of thick mud when you cut it open.

A lot of other folks seemed to really enjoy it, and maybe I just caught the chili on a bad day. So, two stars because maybe I just don't get it.

So, if this is what hot links are supposed to taste like, and you like hot links, this might be the...

For all the hype, I was completely disappointed. I’ve heard so much about these Pittsburg hot links and just yuck. We went in for lunch and got 2 lunch specials, 6links, a bowl of chili, cornbread. The links were tiny and had no flavor. The little bit of chili they give, I couldn’t even finish. It was gross and had no chili flavor at all. Bland bland bland. I thankfully added a side of potatoes to my meal and it was the best thing I had there. My bf got a side of greens and said those were the best on his plate. I’ve heard how good this place was but for my experience, it definitely wasn’t worth it. On a high note, the service was great. Friendly and helpful folks, which was nice. Sorry guys but sadly this missed the mark for me. I walked out...

Hot links didn’t come from Germany or Poland. They came from the South—made by Black families who turned scraps into smoke, spice, & survival. But in Pittsburg, TX, the H. Fred & Charles Hasselback families used their Polish and German sausage-making skills to lock in with a legacy that still feeds East Texas today. The Warrick family made Pittsburg Hot Links what it is. In the 1950s, Gene and Madeline Warrick took a local tradition and built a business from it. While Gene worked the pit, Madeline ran the front, raised six kids, and kept it all moving. Family owned. Their name is still on every bite. Snappy casing, soft center, juice that runs when it hits heat. This ain’t kielbasa. It’s history. East Texas. Sop up that ju up with some light bread and mustard, y’all. Where’s your favorite hot link stand? 🔥🌭 #MouthOfDaSouth #PittsburgHotLinks #SouthernFood #EastTexasEats #HotLinkHistory #BBQTradition #BlackFoodCulture #FromScratch #SoulInASausage
