My husband and I have wanted to try camelbeach waterpark for the 4th of July many years. Finally this year we were able to make the trip! We drove 4.5 hours to check this place out. Here’s why I give it a 3 : On Thursday july 4th we got into camelback resort parking lot. Very confusing if you have no idea parking isn’t free nor 45-50.00. They do not tell you when you come in that you’re in the expensive parking and that cheap parking is THRU the expensive lot. Luckily I asked where the 12.00 parking was because they tried charging me 45.00. (If you want cheap tell them I want general parking for 12.00.) We got our spot & walked up a huge hill to get to the line. Luckily we had our tickets purchased online because that line to get tickets at the gate was INSANE! They had no self service machines working so guest services was a 2 mile long wait. It was crazy. The actual line to get into the waterpark once you had your tickets took us about 20 minutes. As we got in I headed for my reserved (BUY ONLINE) VIP chairs (45.00 for 2) the line was super long & they sold out of all of them! as my husband headed for the express passes. (35.00 each) We then went to our chairs & it was a nice little spot on the deck overlooking the wave pool! They have waitresses up there that bring you your food too!
So we did the “adventure trio with free waterpark” ticket online. We asked how do we get to the outdoor activities which included summer tubing, 1000’ zip line, & mountain coaster. Very good deal for it all! It was just a 5 min walk thru the parking lot to get to the base camp.
We started at the zip line, it was very fun but very short. but they did not do a good job on photos. The guy only got us with our backs turned. Great pics……. as a photographer they need to get different angles. Luckily we did not buy them ahead of time. Then we did the mountain coaster (INCREDIBLY PAINFUL) I’d skip it honestly lol. It’s not something we would do again. If you pushed those bars down you were flying around everywhere getting beat up!!! Then summer tubing. That was a fun time! Got a whole hour (we only went down 4 times) & got to go backwards, you spin a lot! It’s fun it really is. The tubes are just incredibly HOT.
So we walked back up the hill to the waterpark, got changed then went to go on slides. We had express passes & this place does not abide by their express passes whatsoever! Don’t waste 35.00 on it because they make you wait with the regular line or just as long! we have never been to a park that tells express people “we let 4 groups of the regular line go, & then 1 express pass group go” THAT ISNT EXPRESS!!! That’s us waiting every 4 groups. It makes our line just as long as regular! ITS SUPPOSED TO BE 1 GROUP REGULAR LINE 1 GROUP EXPRESS LINE. Simple easy. Everyone was mad in the express because we wasted money when they don’t know how to work it! We did the vortex slide and express pass was on that slide but as we walked up they only stated it ON THE FLOOR which side was express, so everyone in the regular line was standing in the express not caring about people needing to get pass them. They were very rude people attending this park.. express pass line NEEDS to be marked & sectioned off better so no one in the regular line can block it or access it. This park is very unorganized when it comes to lines and the express pass. VERY unorganized. If you do buy it just push through the rude people standing in express from the regular line & show them your express pass, let em be mad! They are in your way. This park needs to understand express pass better!! Now SAFETY. We rode the spin cycle slide, the lifeguard was sending people one after the other without making sure they made it out of the bowl. People were flying out of the tunnel into the bowl into other guests!!! When my husband & I did it we were scared someone was gonna come out & smack right into us! That’s not OK. You gotta wait for people to get out of the bowl before sending down. The cafe inside, you use a credit card to get in which is neat! But, Fun...
Read moreI really enjoy this place. I feel transformed to another place without having to go far from home. There is decent functional parking, which is not free. I am a season pass holder, so parking is included for me. Last year, the giant dinosaurs were brought in. Horrible eye sore that didn't fit and took away from my personal enjoyment. This year, thpse plastic lugs are gone with the wind. Halalujia. The pool is nice and on the hill with a.sand area.that has chairs and cover. The dinosaur that blocked the view from the Sandy area of the little fake ocean pool is gone thank you very much. Really there are too many people in this park but it does seem to be managed okay. I would prefer to have more room in the wave pool. This year the swimming pool itself is closed due to a leak and they don't know if they're going to open it. The Sky Lift is closed because a lot of people had to work it was not that many people riding it. I was really looking forward to writing it. I think maybe people just didn't know that they could ride it. The locker room is nice, the bathrooms are nice, the people are generally nice. You're really not to bring food and stuff in and they do check your bag. My bag was checked yesterday by somebody with really bag-checky-hands. It bothered me a little bit but today it wasn't so bad. Yesterday there was so much checking on my stuff was like dumped over in the bag and it bothered me. I get what they're doing call my checking for weapons and perhaps food. The food here is not that good. They cook it and put it in these containers with lids and then it gets soggy and wet and I just don't like that at all. It's also expensive. I don't like their AI were you register your card at the beginning of the kitchen area and then you go in there and get what you want it's taking a picture of your face and charging you for the food that you took. That disturbs me. I want nothing to do with AI features. The food trucks are only open on the weekends and that's disappointing because the food is a whole lot better than what's in the Camelbeach kitchen. The Rita's was closed yesterday because of the power outage but it's open today and I'm grateful for that. Over the last 2 days, the wave pool has been shut down for a half hour at a time while the lifeguards do their training. That kind of bothered me as well because look at all the other stuff that's closed and my foot doesn't feel well. I came to rest and relax and enjoy the waves but then they shut the pool down and make everybody get out to do their trainings. I'm cool with training but do that before or after. Hopefully they'll get it together this year. Just opened. I compared this to Montage and there's no comparison. Montage cannot beat out camelbeach. I wish the season passes were a little cheaper but it's still a great deal compared to actually driving to the beach or some of the local pool memberships. This place is handicapped accessible. If you buy a pass, be prepared to wait in line a ridiculous amount because their computers don't always work correctly. People get mad and upset. And I bought my season pass before they opened but couldn't get my parking pass until after they open so I had to wait in the line twice. The second time wasn't too bad because I was passing by and they weren't yet open but I came in anyway for the parking pass and was able to get it. When it's extremely hot, it's very difficult to be at this water park. It's just so hot and the only way you get any shade is if you go far away from the water or you rent their Pavilions which I'm not going to do. I really do wish they'd let us bring in umbrellas. I usually freeze a Gatorade to bring and Frozen water. I'm at the point where I just won't eat here but I did get one of the rainbow dots out of the ice cream machine it was pretty good and refreshing and then I learned it's only 80 Cal whereas the other ones were 180 calories. So you can get some things here. I really like the gift shop. You have to try on the clothes because the sleeves are weird the arm holes are weird,...

I was heavily heavily disappointed in the park and especially the customer service I will NEVER be returning and I highly recommend you all do some research before attending this "scam" park.
I arrived to the park excited with my wife whose never been to a waterpark before. I used to go to camelbeach all the time as a child and thought it would be a special treat for her.
As we progressed through the park we noticed attraction after attraction was closed and I had no clue why it was peak season and seemed like a normal business day.
List of closed rides that day: The Spin Cycle - My favorite ride and 50% of why I like the park. The Titan - A signature ride for the park The Midnight Run - The only slide to offer a dark ride experience The Olympic Pool The Ski Lift - Not sure if this is even a ride anymore though.
List of rides with problems: The Wave Pool - Apparently was only to be closed for 30m or 1h due to someone puking. Ride stayed closed for almost 2 hours before I left. Lazy River - Apparently staff noticed lightning and the ride had to be shutdown, yet all the other rides stayed open??? Food Stands - All food stands were closed besides the main cafeteria building.
So in my opinion.. that's about half the rides shutdown. I was so disappointed, not even mad, just disappointed to bring my wife to a park practically shutdown. I would ask the life guards on duty why everything was shut down and all they said was that the midnight run slide was on maintenance for the season, but had no answers for the other rides and seemed to not know they were all even closed. Now I had paid full admission for this park and thought I could see customer service about getting a return voucher since the park was so disappointing that day.
I enter the customer service hut and spoke to a rep who went and got her manager. The manager just comes storming in the room just shaking her head shouting "no refunds no refunds" and I said excuse me, I didn't ask for a refund I was just hoping to get a return voucher since everything is closed. She said the only thing that was closed was the lazy river because they just spotted lightning I said that's not true and started listing off all the rides that were closed. She told me as the other staff did the midnight run was on maintenance for the year and was closed and I could find that on the website. Mind you just for fun I tried browsing all over the website and could never find that information. I said what about all the other rides? She cuts me off and asks me when I arrived. I said 10am and it was now 12:30pm. She said oh no you were here way too long maybe if you were here 30 minutes or something. I said but it took me just that long to traverse the park and notice all the closed rides? I wasn't even here a half day you really won't do anything for me? She just keeps shouting no, no refunds. So furiously I leave the customer service area knowing I'm going to call their phone number to complain.
I reach a rep on their phone and told him everything he said that sounds awful and they'll make it right he said he'd have his manager call me. 2 days go by without a call so I do a chat with them. I find myself with another cranky manager telling me the same things. I said I paid full admission expecting a fully operational park? You know what they told me which sounds to be the biggest scam I ever heard? They said "Sir, you purchased a ticket to only be granted ADMISSION into the park. We could have all the rides closed if we wanted and you still paid just to enter the park. We don't promise anything inside the park." I literally laughed I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I said well that sounds like a violation of standard business ethics and ended the chat.
Called my credit card company and filed a dispute after 60 days I received my refund. So I'm glad the staff treated me so poorly just to have to...
