Where do I begin? A scenic train ride to a beautiful winery sounds like a magical experience but it ended up being the train ride to hell. Unfortunately for us , we went during a heat wave and the train ride was unbearable due to it's lack of air conditioning and all the windows do not open. The scenic view is not that scenic as you can barely see the river but get a good view of several homes along the tracks. From there they put us on an un air-conditioned yellow school bus with the owner of the winery who begins explaining the history of the winery. The bus is not equipped for adult passengers. The seats are kid size and our group barely had enough room to sit. After a bumpy ride we arrive at the winery soaking wet from sweat only to have the owner want us to stand in the blazing sun to talk about the vineyard. We're all thinking at least we will be in air conditioning for the tasting, but oh no! We were herded under a canopy with 2 fans blowing hot air around plastic chairs and tables. The owner continues to talk and talk explaining the various wines and finally the tasting if you can call it that. The pour is barely a sip! The owner started pouring for all the guests and after he missed a couple he yelled at young staff to get them wine. It was really uncomfortable to watch. By the time it was over, we had about 25 minutes to spare as that is when the shuttle school bus leaves to take you back to the train or you are stuck at this winery with an owner who definitely is not hospitable. I am writing this only to make others aware that this experience is very misleading and I bet this winery does not get many repeat guests. I have been to many wineries including the Finger Lakes and this by far has...
Read moreA very bizarre experience. We took the scenic train ride to this winery and were very excited, the train was lovely, but our experience at this winery was not. It stared off well when we first arrived, we took a quick tour of the vineyards and were provided with some education. Afterward we were led to a tent with tables and chairs for the wine tasting portion of the day. We sat down and were greeted by hundreds of yellow jackets. They were swarming everyone, crawling on people and even ended up stinging multiple people. We were told by the owners “if you don’t move they won’t bother you and they will go away” but that was not true. It was horrible, crawling in our wine glasses, our bodies, our hair. There was quite a bit of wine making education provided, but due to the yellow jackets it was nearly impossible to listen. By the end almost half of our group got up and were outside of the tent. The employees said it has never been this bad before and if that was the case, the experience should have been moved inside. In fact, once the tasting was over, most of the group escorted ourselves to the inside wine tasting room for some reprieve. Where to our surprise the female owner was heard on the phone complaining about how everyone was inside trying to purchase their wine. Because the bar to purchase wine outside was bombarded by yellow jackets stinging people. Numerous guests had allergies and were terrified of being stung. One woman even told me she forgot her epi pen at home. The wine tasting and pairing itself was nothing nice and would have been enjoyable if the location was moved. Initially I had plans on coming back for their monthly dinners they have at the winery but after my experience, I will...
Read moreMr. Steve or the owner. My experience was horrible, the worst experience that I ever had and I’ve been in a few vineyards. As a business man you are the worst. There’re a few rules In business. such as: the customer is always right even tho they are wrong. Another rule is one unsatisfied customer is equal to ten unsatisfied customers. The owner doesn’t have people skills at all. The train ride was good, the scenic view was beautiful, but the bus ride is very uncomfortable. The owner either suffer from some type of trauma, probably inferiority complex, and low self esteem. They way he approached a group of 18 peoples was unnecessarily, rude and disrespectful even tho we asked the staff if we can sit and wait under the tent until he was done with his lecture, they said yes. One of the staff also said that we were not able to purchase wine until the wine testing class was over. Moreover, it’s an hour and 30 minutes. One hour of lecture and wine testing. So you have 30 minutes just to buy any wines get on the bus and leave. Not enough time to enjoy a bottle of wine. A terrible way to make business. Overall I won’t recommend this Vineyard at all, as a matter of fact there is a great Vineyard 30 minutes away from Villa Milagro which is 100 percent better and I also recommend. Blue Ridge Estate Vineyard and winery. Unfortunately I didn’t read the reviews beforehand. Also, we didn’t get the wine testing therefore we should get a refund since we paid for it. Horrible experience I don’t recommend this place. Steve/owner was telling the bus driver and the train staff member about us. I actually felt...
