Arctic Swan Bakery — Restaurant in Riegelsville

I think the short version would say old world delectable charm with a twist.

It is rare to find something new and yet familiar. So I was pleasantly surprised to find this little bakery tucked along my route to a thrift store in New Jersey today. The hours posted we're Saturday and Sunday 10:00 to 4:00. That might not be convenient for everyone but I would say this little find is worth putting on your calendar.

Today I treated myself to one of the sticky buns. Being on a weight loss plan that is working I struggled to find something in a bakery setting and yet.... These this bun was so light and fluffy with limited sugar and I think she said Scandinavian sugar on top. I don't think I'll be putting on any extra weight today but I feel really satisfied and happy after eating it! That's a rare find on my weight loss plan :-)

To my delight they also had Gatorade and water so I had good choices for something to swallow my bun with. And it was nice that they had both blueberry muffins with fresh blueberries and cinnamon buns in single serving sizes so that I didn't have to give away the rest of a six-pack!.

We found this wonderful bakery today . We purchased a few things including a lovely lemon loaf cake . The ingredients are exactly what you would use to bake at home including using lemon juice and zest there are NO artificial flavorings added . We also purchased the sourdough rye … we got home and added some smoked salmon and it was amazing. Real sourdough not just flavored to taste like it . A real diamond in the rough. The area has a number of closed shops which is a bit of a bummer but I hope this one prevails. When you come, don't expect a plethora of cupcakes, brownies, or other overly decadent offerings. The variety is small but it's made with love. The person running the shop was nice and personable. Expect delcious, more home-style baked goods like cookies, breads, cinnamon rolls, babka, and the like. Not overly sweet, it's perfect if you love to taste the ingredients over sugar-laden baked...
