Gate 7, Pomona Fairgrounds — Attraction in Pomona

I am extremely disappointed with the treatment my family and I received from a manager at the Ticket Services department during our visit to the Pomona Fair. The manager, a bald Caucasian man with blue eyes, along with a female staff member, unjustly revoked our valid tickets and forced us to purchase new ones in order to enter the fairgrounds.

We received our tickets through one of the official vendors working inside the park, as we were there to support them. Despite this, the manager refused to acknowledge the validity of the tickets and denied us entry. He insisted we buy new tickets, which we ultimately had to do, even though our original tickets were legitimate.

What made the experience even worse was the way we were treated. As a Hispanic family, we felt racially profiled and singled out. When I respectfully confronted the manager and told him that his actions felt discriminatory, he escalated the situation by getting aggressively close to my face and eventually had us removed from the fair. I felt humiliated, disrespected, and completely unwelcome.

It is troubling that someone displaying this type of behavior is representing the Pomona Fair, especially at an event meant to bring families and communities together. Allowing individuals with such hostility and bias to work in guest-facing roles reflects poorly on the leadership that oversees this event.

My family should not have had to experience this, and I am disappointed they had to witness such mistreatment. I strongly urge Pomona Fair management to investigate this situation thoroughly and take the necessary steps to ensure all guests — regardless of background — are treated with fairness, respect, and dignity. When I Get Dropped Off At The LA County Fair And Fairplex, I Usually Go Through Gate 7 To Get To The Blue Gates At Fairplex Because It Sounds Convenient And Useful To Me. This Gate Helps All The Visitors And Me Who Are Being Dropped Off And Picked Up To Get Inside The LA County Fair. I Would Recommend Gate 7 At The Fairplex For All Other Vehicles Including Uber, Lyft, Taxis, And Buses To Be Used And Provided To Any Visitors. The animals are awesome to look at and admire their beauty and enjoy being in arms reach of some of them. Great for the little ones and those young at heart much rather them be in the wild but if it educates people so that we will treat our earth better for them and us and stop being terrible steward of this hurting blue planet we call home.
