Galaxy Furniture — Attraction in Pompano Beach

I have to review this furniture store. My husband and I came upon Galaxy and found ourselves buying a rug. Avi gave us great attention, and after a deposit was made of 100.00, the rug was to be ordered, delivered to the store, and the difference to be paid. They estimated less than two weeks.

Two weeks turned into a month. With a busy schedule, we take responsibility for not calling to follow up sooner, but it is when we DID call that the rug at that point was not ordered. They explained, "It will be here next week".

We did not hear from them that week they said the rug would be delivered to the store, so my husband called to follow up (again). We were told that the rug had made it to the store and when we got there, the store's back inventory was is total disarray; with tons of boxes of furniture with no working order. We were in the store for an hour, and even tried to help look! Then Avi said, "I can't find it; I will have it delivered directly to your home in 10 days". We understood, and left with no rug. We are now in at one month and one week.

Another month went by (yes one full month), and when I called, Avi's brother picked up and told me that he would "check on it and call me back". That call never happened. At this point, we were more interested in having our deposit and remaining payment we made credited back to our credit card. We attempted to call and there was no answer by phone. They do not have a voicemail option to leave. We tried calling multiple times at different times throughout the day. Then the rug finally showed!

We were very happy! The rug isn't the greatest; in fact it's shedding like a dog, but it was 260.00 and probably worth just that. What got us scratching our heads and writing this review? Although we gave the credit card over the phone, they actually charged the remaining balance one month AFTER we received the rug. Terrible.

So let's recap: 1. We ordered the rug November 7th. 2. After this whole messy debacle, we received the rug February. 3. They charged the remaining balance of the rug in March.

My suggestion? Avoid all of this and do not shop there. In their defense, they did knock off 30.00. Being that we live 30 minutes away, I suppose they paid for our gas. ...

Found this gem of a furniture store and can't say enough about our fantastic experience. We started with our small guest bedroom which we wanted a murphy bed. You just have to see it to believe it. Avi designed the murphy bed to open over the couch. We have the most incredible storage and even got a desk unit to complete the room. We now have not just a guest room but den and office.. Wait, it gets better. Avi and his team also made our living room wall unit which is breathtaking. He also made us a huge fabric ottoman which we use and a cocktail table and it has the most amazing storage when you lift the top. Oh, I'm not finished, we also ordered our dining room set and bedroom furniture. We were in New York and everything was done on time and exactly what we wanted. When I had questions, I received calls back promptly. I don't usually write reviews but this one was a must. I referred many of my friends and they also had a wonderful and professional experience. I wish I had another house, I would call...

We highly recommend Galaxy Furniture. We have purchased a significant amount of furniture over the years and I have never received the extremely high level of service received from the owners of Galaxy. The assistance provided in the selection process (as well as the patience!) is unequaled.
