Conoco Museum — Attraction in Ponca City

Wonderful and very informative. I did not know that we had something so close to home that was so integral to the history of our country. The technology used in oil exploration is astounding and the unrealized consumables made from oil I had absolutely no idea. It will be interesting to see the next evolutionary advancement unfold in the oil "platform!" Anyone who is able to visit should! Very modern, clean and a scavenger hunt for all to get involved. This museum wowed us. It was well done amd offered a rich history of an interesting company. It was great to see how they started and Marland and built a company he was proud of. They really took care of their employees! Interesting also to see what other products come from refining crude oil. We all learned something that day and the kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt.

We took some visiting family members there this weekend. A VERY good museum. Very well designed and laid out. It follows the history of Conoco from the E.W. Marland beginnings to the (forced) merger with Continental Oil Co. (Conoco) all the way to modern day. Plus there is lots of info on how oil is found and processed in the past and today.
