Tony Amos City Beach — Attraction in Port Aransas

This is our happy place... we come here every summer and camp right on the beach! For the last 15 years this has been our favorite place to be. New memories made every year... sometimes we catch tons of sharks, sometimes lots of Reds, sometimes too many catfish (this year)... but we always find the time to slow down, and enjoy each other. Definitely gone downhill. This beach definitely used to be a 5 star beach. Unfortunately, due to developments like Cinnamon Shores and all the other poorly built communities the beach no longer has its calming solitude. Now if you are not dodging eyesore subpar resort style beach furniture then you are hoping for any opening in the abundance of RVs parked on the beach cooking meth. Same dense sand as Mustang Beach, but about twice as much distance from the ocean to the dunes, so good for kite flying. I prefer the fluffier sand at White Cap beach which also has some outdoor showers. Also be advised during COVID, "no camping" apparently means no cars on the beach...that meant parking far and hiking to the beach. So bring your wagon. This was true for all...
