Man I haven't been this disappointed with a legitimate business in a long time. I'm not looking on Craigslist because I want professionals. Trying to buy first boat and I guess $9000 isnt enough to keep Gregs interest even though I told him ahead of time we've already seen the boat and are bringing cash for a sale today. Gave a deposit for a water test drive and was expecting to do it pretty immediately. Then told maybe Sunday right after he told us that if we store a boat with them they need 1 hour notice to get in water, but it'll take 2 days for this one??? So we compromised on next afternoon, he'll call in advance. 4pm called and said sorry it took so long and we can do tomorrow. I called back and said not feeling so good about it anymore and will come by tomorrow for deposit. To my surprise no attempt to save the sale but also didn't give me any hassle. Called today for anyone else in sales or owner. Ms.Happy receptionist wouldn't get me the owner because he's busy in the back. Not a sense of customer service out of this grumpy lady. Hope she's the one that sees this first before I get my deposit back today. She sucks worse than Greg. I'll be buying a...
Read moreWorst boat buying experience ever! Greg has to be the worlds worst boat broker. Lies after lies after lies. I had to keep on Greg everyday to make sure things were being done to a boat we were buying from Tomes and the response was always the same “ we won’t let grass grow under it”. But yet... grass grew under it. Was repeatedly told progress was being made but when I popped in for a surprise visit, big surprise!..the boat was still setting in the same place it was before we left for vacation. After all of the phone calls and repeated trips to Tomes I should of got half of the commission on my boat! By the way...Beware! Marina is under new ownership as well and not only half of there staff has left including mechanics but the New owner seems to be clueless not only on his people skills but running a business. If his current business skills are any measure of how he runs a business than the prior businesses he was affiliated with he must of run straight into the ground! It’s so bad at that Marina costumers are asking to get out of there contract and there is a mass exodus out of there seeking other marinas to store...
Read moreWell, my experience has been all bad. Not only did my wife and I purchase a boat from Tome's with a contract agreement for restoration of items found to be damaged, missing, not functioning properly, all would be repaired or replaced by Tome's with no extra cost to us. Now a year later work still hasn't be done, unwilling to renew our storage contract. Why you might ask? Because last year on the behalf of concerned and endangered employees I reported unsafe working environment, willfully putting employees in endanger, not providing "required" Federal / State regulation training. I am Safety Specialist in the real world and offered free of charge to provide all required training, and help with facility safety, storage etc. OSHA did make a visited and found 6 things not in compliance and one of those was the workers right to know what he or she could and would be exposed to. They treat employees like gum on the bottom of someone's shoe. Many boaters in the area have said the same. Owners are unprofessional. I can only assume they as always will not honor our contract to replace or repair our boat...
