Busy beach with tons of families, great restrooms and outdoor showers. Downside is - bring money, literally everything except bathrooms and showers cost $$$. Bbq pits available if you come early, lots of families grilling. Parking is difficult later in the day but free , after you pay the park entry fee of $12 - good all day, re-entry is OK, show your reciept at the gate. This is a nice beach for smaller kids as it is shallower than areas like Bluewater, Moonlight and other beaches on Gulf road. That being said, the riptide is strong all around the island so use CAUTION! BYO floatie and fill it for $2 at the floatie, chair and umbrella rental place where thr restrooms and snack bar is. Rental of beach chairs and umbrella were about $35 for the day. We had a great time at Isla Blanca - the water was cold and there were lots of small shells for kids (and adults!) to hunt in the freshly updated sand. Seemed to be less sea creatures washing up at Isla Blanca which was nice as we saw Blue button Jellyfish and part of a Man o' war at those other beaches. Definitely a favorite for LatinX families, enjoying the surf and sun and having a great time. Be aware there is a Homeland Security point going back north as mentioned by another reviewer, so bring your papers and watch your speed - there are Border Patrol -everywhere- on...
Read moreGiving it 3 stars because the beach itself is beautiful and relaxing. Not being from here I didn't know you can rent umbrella and chairs. We saw some abandoned and figure we'll use it. We were asked if we had a tag, was adviced to get one and to ask if we can get it for less because there's only an 1 or so left to have them. Lady at the rental place was rude and told me even you had it 5 mins it's 30 dollars. Then turns her back at me and walks away. I was about to go ahead and pay the 30 bucks but was so bothered by her disrespecting me. It's really shameful and greedy that you would charge someone full price as if they were there since 8am till 7. At least be polite and maybe the person would be willing to! Really ruined my experience! Maybe some signs telling people there are rentals and where to go would be...
Read moreThis basically a huge campground. It costs $10 to get in. You can rent a beach umbrella and two lounge chairs for the day for $30. Or you can bring your own. Since it's a campground there's not really any places to buy food inside. But they give you a ticket to put on your dash when you pay the $10 entry that allows you to come back in. Bring your own food and drink to avoid having to leave and come back. I'm posting pictures of the beach on Saturday of memorial day weekend. So it doesn't get much more crowded than this. Even this crowded, it was nice and people generally respect your space. Most are friendly and even run to help you set up your canopy without even asking for help. Worth the stop to...
