I've never reviewed anything before, but I felt I needed to say something about this beach. It's a nice beach and all, but if you visit in the middle of August just after sunrise and play in the loose sand area just after the entrance, you will be swarmed with little black bugs that bite mainly your lower extremities. If you sit, you will be bitten all over. Not sure what kind if bugs they are. Not sure if it was the time of day, the location on the beach, or the season, or if this is common to beaches around here, or a different factor, but I've never experienced something like this in other beaches (not in FL) before. Read moreLove this beach because it is quiet and out of the way of the crazy busy Daytona Beach. There are not many people usually there so you can really space out away from everyone else. Wilbur beach doesn't have rental services for beach chairs etc. There are no lifeguards in most of the areas. There are less hotels and condos and mostly homes along this part, so it makes a very pretty stretch to take a nice long walk. I definitely recommend this beach just remember to take everything that you will need and take your trash...

I would wake up some mornings and have to walk 200-300 yards just to get to the water. The beach isn't that wide anymore (pick your reason) but it's still a wonderful beach to go to.
