Boondocks Restaurant — Restaurant in Florida

Several things about our stop In for lunch makes this a bad review for me. Sucks cause we have history with this place back in the day and it was amazing, always! Keep in mind this place is smallish and it wasn't packed. Pretty quiet actually.. But here's it is. Bartenders and serves whispering and talking about customers, in front of customers, is already something that's shouldn't be, but it is..Then, before we left I was staring at the bartender and the waitres having something to say about us. We 1st asked (before we ordered) if thousand island came on the patty melt.. The bartender informed us that she has worked as soooo many restaurants and bars and thats just not how you make a patty melt, "you're thinking of cuban." Ma'am no 🤦‍♀️.... and kept telling us how much more she knew then us. Without us having to say anything. It was just a question.. although it may not be everybody's way of making it, we like to ask. She made us feel so stupid like we didn't know what we were ordering.. Maybe don't belittle the same people that frequent alot of the "establishments" you claim to work at. My suggestion, And I know it was more so a, "seafood type" menu but, don't order the tiny, no flavor burger they slap on 2 peices of toast with a slice of cheese, it's not a patty melt. Broccoli was steamed great, just zero flavor. Shrimp tacos were okay in flavor. But very "not filling" for just having lunch. Coleslaw was pretty good.

With 2 lunch plates and 2 beers we left paying almost $70.

That's crazy.. I wouldn't recommend them unless you just want to pay for a quiet, quaint view to have a $5 or more beer with the staff talking about...

I can’t rate the quality of the food because the service was so bad we never got food. We arrived around 6:10pm on a Thursday. We found a parking space with no problem and were told we could wait for a table (picnic tables) or there was open seating at the bar. We opted for the bar and took two of the many open seats right at the bar, not the dining bar behind the actual bar. There were two female servers behind the bar, one was engrossed in conversation with the only two other patrons at this bar. 5 seats were open. The second server was doing nothing. No one greeted us of or gave us menus. After a while we reached over and got our own menus. We decided on drinks but still got no one’s attention. Suddenly the server who was doing nothing came to life and appeared to greet us. But no, someone she knew had arrived and took the two seats next to us. She whisked two menus to them, got them the IPA she recommended to them, then started scrolling through her phone to show them some pictures, while the 2nd server was still engaged in her private conversation and we were completely ignored. After 25 minutes (according to Life360, not my perception) we left. I informed the two staff at the host/hostess station why we were leaving. Literally the two bar servers treated us as though we were invisible. Their loss. No money for the restaurant, no tip for them. We found a much better place with excellent service. We will not be giving Boondocks...

Wow! Just wow! Have been coming here for years, always happy , that’s why we returned today, only to be disappointed! And the young manager didn't care about what we had to say!! Girl you have a long way to go! Waitresses were ALL very friendly and out going! We ordered our food , a fish Ruben which my husband said was so dry he couldn’t even finish it all and this was after a $5 up charge for the fish of the day , and he NEVER complains but today he did , and asked how my pickle was which we both agreed was so tough we couldn’t eat! When the bill came and we were asked if we enjoyed our meal , we told the waitress of the dry sandwich and tough pickles which she quickly stated let me get a manager. When the so called manager came to table we stated our concerns to which she replied oh well nothing I can do about it now! Really? Wow! How unprofessional!! I stayed we have came here many times with no complaints but this time was different and she still kept saying oh well nothing I can do about it now! How unprofessional!!!! I stated ok well this will be our last time here and told her we would take our hard earned money elsewhere where they care about their customers and she just said, oh well!!! Wow!! Wrong on so many levels!! $100 for a couple drinks and sandwiches that were not eatable?!?! Sorry you lost us as a customer!! Folks take your money elsewhere to...
