Alberta Rose Theater. This happened near the start of the show as I was swaying softly to the beat of one my favorite artists, @ruthiefoster.
The assaulter/woman seated with her head easily 2 feet behind me said out loud and clearly "this woman's hair is all over in my space". I then heard a rip and sharp pain, on my scalp. My hair had been torn out. A big huge part of it, to where I was bleeding and there’s a bald in a patch. I told my assaulter she’d ripped out my hair, and she said “your hair was in my space; it was an accident" My husband heard this too. The staff at Alberta Rose knowing I was bleeding, in great pain and hearing my report of what happened, as I was crying with tears steaming down my face, decided to offer my husband and I an alternative e space to sit at the bar, just outside the theater, for the remainder of the show. The woman who attacked me was left in peace, seated just behind my family, whom I could no longer be with, because I had complained about my assaulter, and she denied assaulting me, saying my hair was caught in the seat.
I called the police. The police took photos of my injuries. They asked the staff to speak to my assaulter. The staff said it was a “he said she said story” and the other woman and her friends had a different story.
At this point I wasn’t even allowed back in to say goodbye to my family, as I had chosen to walk outside of the show. I had been waiting 4.5 months to see Ruthie Foster, and...
Read moreHello everyone. Yesterday i went to the show "Sleeping Beauty Dance & Light Show" The ballet could’ve been better, I brought tickets to section B and paid (44$) some extra money, for better view, when I come for 5 minutes late because of the parking problem, I drive around 5 minutes to find any spot as possible. When I come my seats were taken by people who payed less money for section C(33$) but was seated on my seat(44$). Unfortunately the theater especially usher girl don’t give a shit about seats at all. People who work there were really mean to me especially this girl. Even though I told her about the fact that I paid extra for my seat, and better view, she just told me something like “first come first served” and “if you don’t like our theater write the review”. So I had an awful experience in total and that girl should be fired because of doing her job poorly. I was in two other theaters beside this one, and compared to this one I would go back to the other two but never to this theater again. Do not recommend to people to go here. Because they put different prices for sections, you might paid good amount of money and end up seating on cheaper seats. Just because the usher girl decided to place people in your seat. I want my money back or at least some compensation. Give me...
Read moreA hostess put my wife and I in the back of the theater because we arrived at 6:30pm for a 6:30pm concert and she said, "you should have been on time".
At 6:42pm I watched another hostess personally walk a group of three to the front left of the theater, in the section we had paid for. They were clearly not admonished for not "coming on time".
At 6:47pm I watched the same hostess who shamed my wife and I while forcing us to the back personally walk a very tall man to the front, again the section we had paid for.
She did the second guy during the music actually playing.
I watched her force an older Asian couple to not get their seats in the front either before she hand walked other people to the front 12 minutes later.
I am Asian as well.
All the people who were hand walked to the supposedly "full" front section over 10 minutes after the show started were White.
I have never claimed racism before in my life, but this was an extremely disturbing experience.
I was trying to take my wife out for mother's day and this is how we were treated while the same hostess personally walked multiple White people to the front of the house well after the show had started.
My wife and I are special education teachers, I never thought this would happen in Portland...
