Off-Leash Area of Fernhill Park — Attraction in Portland

This is one of my favorite off-leash dog parks in the area. I am lucky to have a dog that stays close and we use a remote collar. She's somewhat timid and I have found that fenced dog parks can be stressful - sometimes it just takes one dog personality to entirely change the energy of the whole fenced in area. Love that Fernhill is not fenced. We don't feel confined nor obligated to be close to a dog that may have a temperament or style of play that we're not comfortable with. There's room for everyone here!

On a side note, more garbage cans would be great. I pick up after my dog but would prefer to be able to toss it instead of carrying it...

This is such an awesome unfenced dog park with tons of space and usually really cool pets and people. There is a trash on both the East and North sides of the park and the neighborhood community does a great job of keeping water jugs full at the picnic table at the bottom of the hill. My dog really loves this park because there's so many options from chasing squirrels in the trees, to catching up and down hills, as well as playing with all the other dogs that are usually there. I failed to say everything outloud in my initial excited writing. The fetch sticks in the first sentence literally refer to sticks my partners dog liked to fetch in this park. I am sorry it reads as though these memorials could be used as dog toys.
