I finally tried the Santo Domingo Tacqueria today and Iâm so glad I did! Itâs been on my try out list for too long but when I checked their menu I saw that itâs Oaxacan cooking which I love and they also have nopales. I was in for a treat! The staff is welcoming and helpful. I ordered a nopales burrito and a chicken taco. The chicken taco has pico, onions, guacamole and chicken on two corn tortillas. They offer a verde, red and habanero sauce so I asked for a couple of red and verde. The chicken taco was delicious. The meat was very flavorful and the amount of condiments they put on my taco was perfect. The red sauce which was full of chili flavor was the perfect accompaniment. I was warming up to my burrito. The nopales burrito was also delicious. The chunks of nopales were very flavorful and had the perfect texture; soft with just the right amount of chew. The tortilla was tasty and held all of the burritos ingredients beautifully! I really liked that they add an egg in the burrito. Extra protein is a good thing in my book. The burrito also had very tasty long grain rice, pinto beans, and guacamole. I opted for the verde sauce with the burrito which really complimented all of its flavors. The prices are quite reasonable here and I felt like I got a really good value for what I ordered. The Santo Domingo Taqueria will definitely be a go-to restaurant when Iâm craving Mexican good. 5 stars all the way! Indoor & outdoor...
Read moreIt was okay. The food was decent. Nothing to write home about. I got a 3 tacos plate with rice and beans. Mostly bland, and the sauces were interesting. First time having a Verdé sauce that runny with a very different taste than I used to.
The people working that establishment kept walking by my table 5-6 times every single 2 minutes. To go to the store room nearby or whatever. It was just not a great experience for those looking to have a nice and quiet lunch or dinner it seems like this would not be the place best suited for that desire.
The food was expensive. It cost me near a 20 dollar bill to have lunch including a modest tip and a Jarritos. I asked the gal to open my drink because I didn't see the bottle opener and she just showed me where it was, even though she already had her hands on it, would have given her a better tip if she did it for me like I had asked in the first place. Either way, it reflected my review.
Although it was not horrible, I most likely won't be going back here again unless I need to scratch the Mexican food itch. Maybe there is somewhere near here that is a little better? I'll keep my ears open. I hope this...
