Payson Park is an absolute gem in Portland! This park offers a perfect blend of nature, recreation, and relaxation. The sweeping views of Back Cove are simply stunning, especially during sunrise or sunset. The spacious fields are great for picnics, playing frisbee, or just soaking up the sun, while the well-maintained trails are perfect for a leisurely walk or jog.
As someone who indulges in road life, being able to set up a nice area to cook some hotdogs is a real treat. The park has plenty of space and picnic areas, making it easy to enjoy a meal outdoors. The playground is a hit with kids, and it’s so wholesome to hear them laugh and play with their friends has I rest my eyes and listen to my surroundings. And they often have community events so we get to hear local groups play in their bands, food trucks and more!:)
The park is always clean and well-kept, and there's plenty of space to spread out, even on busy days. Whether you’re looking to enjoy some outdoor activities or just want a peaceful spot to unwind, Payson Park is a beautiful place to spend time in Portland....

It left not much to be done having not brought kites thinking a park this size would have a more accommodating playground. Other than that, cute park for a picnic,...
Read moreMy little ones love it here! I love that there is both a playground and a splashpad both in one area, along with plenty of grassy area to picnic, lay out in the sun, jog/run or walk, etc. There's a 'story walk' that has pages to a kids book along a path to walk and read along the way. They also have a baseball field, basketball nets and free parking both in the park and along the baxter boulevard side. We come here pretty often in the summer for the splash pad/playgroup and also to sled in the winter. Great place to have a family get-together or some...
