Disappointing visit for myself and family. We had arived to the park late because the two lane highway to Prescott had a 1 hour delay, not the parks fault but if your driving the same road, remember to plan an extra hour for road dekays. There is no alternative routes available and in AZ everyone is entitled to be rude and drive like jerks, thus causing accidents and delays. When we got there Bob at the ticket counter informed us that the park was closing in 46 minutes trying his best to dissuade us from entering. The cost if admission is reasonable for the value about 10 for adults and 6 for the kids, but in no way was Bob empowered to offer any discount due to the time restriction, or a sense of humour about my request for a discount. Thanks for nothing Bob.
While this is a convenient place to visit if you are in the Prescott area, it is not worth making the trip from the Phoenix area solely for this place. The displays are limited to around 20 and very little employees were found to discuss the animals and learn more about them. Miraculously employees did appear at closing time to chase you out if the park...... I am not so sure as to why, as it looked like the animals were getting fed around then, and that is surely the most exciting part of a zoo trip.
While clearly not required by the zoo, Masks were worn by myself and the family, but do not expect Prescott locals to do the same, thus I had to deter my children from getting 5 minutes on a playground set that they were really excited to see. A Church of sorts had taken it over with around 20 adults and kids who have trust the Lord to protect them from Covid.
Still thinking about protection, the zoo offers none in terms of any team member being available to wipe down displays or tanks that had been touched by other visitors.....quite disappointed in this, and wish they had shown some level of responsibility to the safety of the visitors.
Me and the wife had a chuckle about how we should have just stayed in Phoenix and visited 1 of the zoos available locally, unless you have other business in Prescott, I would...
Read moreI loved this pace more than an actual zoo, my kids as well. You can tell the animals are happy, bring there for the few hours that we were I believe we got see every animals actually personality. From Sasha (the spoiled boy bear) who has lived far longer than the average brown bear (24 or 25 years old) eating his favorite meal, actually seeing bobcats sway their tails back and forth in anticipation for meal time. Without realization my daughter was eating cookies outside the sleeping raccoon enclosure, next thing we knew there were three little hands poking out of the fence hoping she'd share with them. The absolutely BEAUTIFUL mountain lion, I think her name is Jade and she just knows she's a pretty girl the way she stays perched up on her rock in her enclosure. I don't remember everybody's name but they all had one. There's a bald eagle who loves to playfully talk back and a little bitty blind owl who talks back with the attitude you expect from the eagle lol. I do the sheep have something against me because I coughed and startled them and they just stared at me for the rest of the time I was by their enclosure. Oh, can't forget about the beautiful peacocks that walk around the sanctuary like they in the place. I could go on and on and on about this sanctuary but I still won't be doing it any justice. If you're thinking about going, quit thinking and just do it. It's real by a lot of great people that love their jobs and you can tell by how happy the animals are. I would be a regular if I didn't love 10...
Read moreThis wonderful sanctuary is truly a special place that is committed to the care and well-being of animals in need.
The sanctuary is located in a beautiful and peaceful setting that immediately puts visitors at ease. From the moment I arrived, I could sense the love and care that goes into the daily operations of the sanctuary. The staff - all volunteers, are all incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about the animals they care for.
One of the things that impressed me the most about the park is that there is a diverse group of animals living here, and each one is given the utmost attention and care. I especially enjoyed the mountain lion talk, in which a volunteer explained all there is to know about this elegant and adorable creature.
The animal habitats are clean, spacious, and well-maintained. It was clear that the staff and volunteers go above and beyond to provide a comfortable and safe environment for the animals.
In addition to the excellent care provided to the animals, the sanctuary is also committed to promoting animal welfare and responsible animal ownership.
Overall, I recommend this place that is doing important work to care for animals in need. Whether you're an animal lover or just looking for a peaceful place to visit, this sanctuary is definitely...
