I've been here three previous times and enjoyed it, but this time was depressing. Even though it was a nice day (overcast and in the 70's), hardly any animals were visible. The ones I could see looked miserable. A poor roadrunner was trying to run in his little area, a big bird with a broken wing was sitting listlessly in his cage, and some little guy, might have been a fox, was gobbling up some food that was just passed out. He was so skinny. Once again, I couldn't see the wallabies because they were locked up. That's four times now. The horses, deer and related animals need more space. The gift shop is nice. Got a bag of chips there since it's the only food available. I could have sworn this place used to have a snack bar...
Read moreAny time my daughter and I visit Prescott we make it to Heritage Park. We easily spend an hour and a half walking around talking to all the animals. We love reading and hearing about each of there stories. As my kiddo says, "This place renews our faith in humanity because they do what is right for each pet." We are clearly animal lovers and enjoy seeing how each team member knows all the animals names and stories. Each team member is so friendly, kind and helpful. We love Heritage Park and are thankful for all the fantastic care they give to each individual animal. Thank you...
Read moreWe went to the Heritage Park Zoo and, to be honest, it wasn't the biggest zoo I've ever been to by far but it was really nice. Easy going, not a ton of people to contend with, and we got to take our sweet time without feeling like we were "holding up the line". So if you're looking for the "crème de la crème", this isn't it. But if you're looking for a zoo with "chill vibes" that you can see the animals pretty darned close, that the family would like (there is a nice little playground by the entrance/exit for the kiddos as well), it's definitely worth...
