Great location to bring the whole family! And it was only $3.00 per vehicle!👍 (People stop complaining about $3.00 entry. It's a great deal for all they offer. And let's face facts, they don't make that much money for the work they do!) They have a park where the kids could play (Needs more shade though), and huge lawn of grass to play any other activities. You have direct access to a trail entry. Just kinda sucks that there no SHADE WHAT SO EVER! You'd have to come super early to feel the most comfortable with the hike. NEEDS MORE GREENERY, looks super dry in areas. So next time I'd probably go to Lynx Lake for shade. But I will say the staff here have beat out any employee near Lynx Lake! The greeting just alone just puts you in a good mood!💕 I'd rather pay $5.00 here then at Lynx Lake, if they made some improvements. Let's be real.. we're in Arizona and WE LIVE FOR PLACES WITH SHADE. Wish you could do more at the lake, and that they had mini boats to rent (not kayaks). Probably the CLEANEST grounds I've ever seen. If this was helpful... give a thumbs up!💛

The worst thing about this park is the sparse information on their website. They have 35 campsites. One through 19 are supposedly by reservation only. 20 through 35 our first come first serve. There is rarely an attendant there so you have to go to the kiosk which is to the right after you pass the entrance. You don’t need to pay at the entrance to park if you were going to camp overnight. Goto the second kiosk by the bathrooms/showers and pay there after you have already set up in your spot. I talked to several people in the reserved camping section and they had not reserved. They just pulled in at night and picked a spot that was open. The park itself is quite busy during the day, but a quiet down after sunset. The campsites are very close to each other, especially in the reserved section. Up in the first come first serve section there are at least bushes that separate you from adjacent campers. I stayed for five days at $20 a night. The showers are clean, the water is hot and has good pressure.

Watson Lake is so beautiful, interesting and unique! I've never seen anything like it before other than in photos from other photographers. It was a dream of mine to be able to come to this amazing place in person for a photo shoot and also just take time to sit & enjoy it's beauty! It didn't disappoint in anyway!! Even the parks host at the gate was so enjoyable talk with! And the restrooms were really clean. The lawn areas were well groomed and there are plenty of locations around for picnics in the areas I went. I loved the gazebo, and other areas that had benches to sit. This park has a place for everyone to hangout and enjoy the surroundings. But honestly the rock formations around the lake itself were what had me mesmerized!! This place is a must see any time of year...... 🤗

We are from out of state. Went to the the 4th of July celebration. It was a nice area. Figured it would be a great family event. Our major complaint was the safety of the kids with all the drunks around. (Because they do serve alcohol there )Paid $10 entry fee per person. The $20 parking (on the highway) was a joke!! Very dangerous after it was all over! Shuttles were too small and could not keep up. We all ended up walking to our car 2 miles away... Next to the busy highway. Drunk people were yelling to our 8 yr old grandson as they drove by at 50 mph. I sure hope it is managed better next year before someone gets severely injured. We will not be back next year. We went to Prescott Valley and they put on a fantastic show. It was way better there.

Awesome park and lake! What a great lake to explore! Our group of kayaks & paddleboards spend 3+ hours checking out all the coves and areas and rock formations, and didn't even see them all! Very unique looking lake with all the rock formations that make up the shore on the North half. The water level was high so we could get deeper into some of the coves. There are even a few little Islands you can stop at. We launched from the South Shore beach area. It was a busy weekend and we still had plenty of room. The North boat launch area looked packed. Highly recommend checking out this lake. If you don't have a way to get on the water it looks there are several trail that you can take you down to the rock shoreline. Beautiful Place!!
