Due to an event happening, we were directed to park our car at the end past the campground and by the kayak rentals. Having never been here before, it was very confusing trying to figure out where the trail started. We had even downloaded the trail to the Alltrails app and still managed to get off track several times. It seems easier to start the trail near the campground by the lookout where there are more signs. Whatever you do, don’t follow people like we did. Many are just finding a spot to sit by the lake or on the rocks and aren’t on the actual trail. There are lots of spur trails and the white circles will lead you there if you aren't careful. The circles should be arrows because you don’t know if it is directing you to an entrance or to the trail. As the trail progressed, it was better marked with the white circles and some signs. As others have mentioned, clockwise is the best option as most of the climbing will be first. There are some drop offs that may be challenging for people with fear of heights. Scrambling around in the boulders was fun though! There is no shade unless you find a big rock to hide behind. It is a stunning hike with the contrast of the lake and the boulders. We saw a lot of people kayaking in the lake. What a place for that activity! Definitely recommend; however, if it’s your first time download the trail to Alltrails or a similar app to help keep...
Read moreWe recently visited Watson Lake on our way home and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. The lake was beautiful, the rock formations were brilliant, and we had a great time paddle boarding. We will definitely be visiting again.
As soon as we arrived at Watson Lake, we were struck by its beauty. The lake was crystal clear and surrounded by stunning rock formations. It was the perfect spot for a day of paddle boarding.
We had a great time exploring the lake on our paddle boards. The water was calm and the scenery was breathtaking. The rock formations were particularly impressive, with towering cliffs and unique shapes. We enjoyed paddling around and taking in the views.
But the beauty of the lake and the rock formations wasn't the only highlight of our visit. We also appreciated the convenience of the facilities at Watson Lake. There was plenty of parking and the rental process was easy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed for a great day on the water.
Overall, I am extremely impressed with Watson Lake and will definitely be returning for more paddling adventures in the future. If you're a fan of paddle boarding or just want to enjoy the beauty of nature, I highly recommend giving Watson Lake a try. It's sure to become one of your...
Read moreI've been to many lakes in the past, like new York bear mountain, and never seen this lake so beautiful with a tremendous spectacular view. Amazing! The rock formation is so intriguing like as if you are in another planet. You can walk in top of the rocks, big and huge rocks and between them. I recommend, strictly speaking, wearing sneakers, so you won't slip down. It is also recommended not to swim due to high mercury. You can sit any where and just relax and take deep breaths and enjoy the view. There are benches throughout the area. Theres a boat ramp as well. There's also many trails that take you to different view or angles to behold the wonders of God and admire His creation. There are spots where you can park. I caught one of the most beautiful sunset up there. Amazing indeed. Just go and explore the entire lake. And, you can go around the lake. It is advisable not to wonder too far and as a warning, don't let the sun go down on you. I hope you enjoy my...
