Watson Lake is awesome! Get out there on a kayak or canoe in the afternoon when the waves get choppy and you're in for a fun ride. If you want to explore all the coves and rock outcrops then plan on 2 Hours. If you just want to get on the water you can be out and back in 1hr no problem. So many places to see! Watson Lake location gets 5-Stars Watch you're arrival times - Prescott Outdoors is to-the-minute on their cut off times. If you pull into the lot at 3:00pm you're not going to make it. Also the staff if less-than helpful. I inquired about paddle lengths, a seemingly normal thing to ask about, and the guy on the water was like "they're all about the same, it won't make a difference." Rental prices are fair, right at the average. Note: boat rentals are not where Google Maps puts them. Turn Right after the guardpost and go to the lower parking lot. Prescott Outdoors gets 4-Stars

Great place with plenty of parking to rent a kayak and experience the Watson Lake. $20 for 1 hr rental. Views are amazing and staff explains safety tips for kayaking.

Excellent Experience. We booked online for an hour Kayak and an hour paddle board (BTW, do the paddle board first lol). We arrived over 30 minutes early with plans to just chill till our reservation time, they had boats set aside for us and were able to launch us right away. Super helpful staff, Rowan gave us great instructions on the paddle boards. They have beverages and ice cream for sale for reasonable prices. Bring cash, it will be quicker. The lake isn't huge but the rock formations are pretty awesome and you could spend some time ashore on the far side and have a picnic if you plan ahead. We don't own pets but since it seems to come up a lot, they DO NOT allow pets in the boats. It's right there on the website people.

Very disappointed by the rude and unprofessional attitude of the owner of this rental company. Called ahead to change our time due to a schedule conflict. Was told about the high winds, and they asked if we could schedule for tomorrow. I explained that would not work with my schedule. The employee said to just come out and they would change my time when we arrived. I asked if I could cancel, was told no. So we came to the lake to see how it was and decided to go out based on their recommendations of staying close to the right side of the lake. Which went great. 2 more people in my party went out next and were immediately caught by the winds and pulled out to the middle of the lake. I was concerned and asked the employee if I could rent a single kayak to assist my less experienced guests. He said he would talk to the boss and see if he could go out to assist. He was told they would watch them and if they were still concerned they would go out. Being unable to call my guests I was unable to check in with their status. The guest made it back on their own safely, but 15 minutes after the earlier set time of 11-1pm, mind you we didn’t arrive till 11:30 and should have been given the kayaks until 1:30. The owner of this company had already starting screaming at my other guests while I had driven to the other side of the lake to see if I could see the kayak. When I returned he then screamed at me for not listening to him and renting the kayaks anyway. I was shocked the the owner would treat me and my guests in such a rude and belligerent manner. He then said I had to pay for an extra hour the kayak because they arrived 15...

Matt and Mandy were extremely accommodating and very nice. My husband and I decided to get out of Phoenix for a couple days grieving the sudden and unexpected death of our dog. We sought out activities that would get us into nature and decided to go canoeing at Watson Lake. We had never done anything like this before. Matt explained over the phone the weather they were experiencing that day and told us that the next day would be a better day for us to come to the lake. We took his advice. Matt and Mandy met us at the lake the next day and provided everything we needed to have a wonderful 3 hours on the lake. I did let them know when we arrived why we seemed somber to avoid awkward interactions and they both were very sympathetic towards us.

All of the gear was in great shape. The canoe was wonderful. Matt spent the time with us explaining how to get in and out of the canoe, how to use the paddles, and made sure we were comfortable before we set out. Watson Lake is a great lake to adventure around in.

Highly recommend. Thank you Matt and Mandy for helping us have a wonderful time during a...
