MotoMember Purcellville VA
After months of researching on the Can Am Spyder and watching for the right deal we saw a post for a 2022 Sea to Sky and were thrilled to see the price $25299 with Zero Miles. We then saw their advertisement regarding a rebate for a $1000 off 2022 Models, we brought this to the attention of the first person we worked with and asked if it qualified and would be applied to our purchase, we were told it would. This made our First hurdle the rebate we were informed that the $1000 dollars was taken off before the price was posted. (Not sure I trust this explanation Red Flag) This was not properly communicated and I question if this is the case. (Get things in writing).
We met our Second Hurdle when we tried to make our down payment. We thought go and get a cashiers check. We were informed they required us to wait a day for the cashier’s check to clear...(5hr drive one way um no thanks) We went to the bank to get a very large amount of cash requiring us to go to 2 different ones because the first location did not have enough money on hand for the transaction. (If the sales person had asked just one question about how we were going to pay or finance we could have made arrangements in advance and saved hours.)
Third hurdle, the tags for the bike. We drove to Purcellville from NC to make our purchase so the tag for the bike was a little bit more complicated as they were meant to inform NC of the purchase so they would send the plates to dealership and then forwarded it to us so a little bit of delay was expected (However) Purcellville took 3 weeks just to send the message to NC DMV. Who then in turn sent them the first tag within 6 days. (We were told that tag was somehow misplaced.) Phone call after phone call after phone call on our part. (+95% of the calls were instigated by us) 2 months after our purchase we finally received our tags after having to request a 2nd temporary tag to get us until the permanent one arrived.
Fourth Hurdle we decided to forgo the extended service coverage we set up on purchase of the bike. This has been a drawn-out nightmare of phone tag and hounding the finance department. We are STILL trying to get answers in regards to the removal of the wheel and tire service package. No one is returning our calls, we have left multiple messages.
Our Fifth hurdle would be our Install concerns. After buying the bike we decided to start doing a number of things including installing an upgraded Sway bar. While installing the new one we ran into an issue caused by MotoMember using the sway bar channel as the route for the wiring used to upgrade the lighting on the floor boards. This caused a number of issues and loads of frustration with our install of the H&R Heavy Duty Sway Bar. In upgrading the fender lights, we found that to add the fender lights instead of using plug and play lighting kits there was a lot of splicing and electrical tape this could have and should have in our opinion been done much better.
Now with our plans to upgrade our rear shock to an M2 shock after researching on youtube how to install it, we discovered that the Elka stage 2 front shocks that we bought from and paid the dealership to install for us were not calibrated for riding style or preloaded weight. They were also alarmingly installed upside down. This causes extreme wear and tear on the shock causing it to break down much more quickly. After an investment of $850 and $300 in installation I find that unacceptable. "Photos attached"

Read moreREAD THIS REVIEW IF YOU EVER PLAN ON BUYING ANY TYPE OF MOTOR SPORTS VEHICLE,PART,ECT. IN THE TRI STATE AREA. I’m 61 years old and have been on some type of street or dirt bike since I was 7 , so if probably made 12 to 14 new motorsports purchases from dealerships in va, Maryland and even west va At 61 and needing both my knees replaced I decided to go form 2 wheels to 3 wheels because I still wanted to ride. I started researching can am Spyders which was a totally new world for me. I tried to work deals on a loaded Spyder with 2 local dealerships, one was an inventory issue and the other one sent me packing over what amounted me asking for a (one) percent discount off full sticker price. I was on the internet and stumbled across a place that was one hour from my house, the place Is called MOTOMEMBER located in Purcell villa va. I called the sales department to see if they might have any loaded spyders in stock and the salesman told me , ( yes sir we have over 200 of them in stock and he said I’m gonna do whatever I need to do to make sure you become a happy member of the MOTOMEMBER family). The salesman’s name is Timmy Bishop and he is by far one of the most professional salesmen I’ve ever dealt with and at the same time making me feel like I had known him all my life. He took videos on his cellphone of all the inventory and the dealership so I wouldn’t have to drive an hour just to look . Each time there was even a little snag in putting a deal together that worked for everyone Timmy’s answer was always the same, he would say I’m gonna make that happen for you because we don’t wanna just take your money and be done, we want you to be a happy customer and part of the MOTOMEMBER family forever. Trish the sales manager called me and said tell me what I need to do to make this deal work for you and with a little help from the parts department she threw in a few perks to make it the exact deal I wanted. Timmy Bishop and Trish are the reason I bought the bike , and even the general manager came out to welcome me to the MOTOMEMBER family which by the way comes with way too many perks and discounts for me to even list. Besides being the size of 6 motor sports dealerships put together everyone you deal with in this organization treats you like you own the place. Adam Bearer , the finance guy knew I was paying in full and am a mechanic myself he still took the time to print out all the maintenance schedules and specs for maintenance, which is all in the manual but it sure is nice to have it all printed out so I don’t have to go digging for it. They delivered the bike to my garage door in an enclosed trailer and even the delivery guy took 20 minutes to go over the whole bike and all its options even though Timmy had already gone over it with me . I guess to put it in perspective, I don’t write reviews but this place and then whole buying experience prompted me to write this. If you live in the Tri state area and you need something Motorsports related then just call MOTOMEMBER Purcellville and ask for TIMMY BISHOP and you’ll see...
Read moreI was browsing cycle trader looking for a Honda Grom or a Kawasaki z125 Pro came across the Kawasaki z125 Pro for $1,999 in Purcival, Virginia. I called them about it and spoke to Nathan. At first he seemed like a really good guy. I said well that's a really good deal can I send you a deposit and I'll try to come get it within a couple weeks because I'm in Ohio and I'm really busy with my business. He said fine 2 weeks to come get it. About an hour later he sends me the invoice after I sent him the $250. To my shock The price is now $3,600 plus. I read through detail lines $695 for a document fee over $400 for an assembly fee another $400 for shipping which they weren't shipping it to me. Mind you no text and title because I'm in Ohio and would do that here. So when it was all said and done I would have had well over $4,000 in a $2,000 bike and I was paying cash. After I seen it call them back and he said he saw nothing wrong with $1,600 in fees on a $2,000 bike. I said good well send me my money back that's fine we can't see eye to eye here. I've worked in two separate dealerships as a mechanic I've bought bikes before and never have I seen such outrageous fees. 3/4 of the cost of the bike more in fees. It takes all but 25 minutes to uncrate and assemble a z125. So apparently their service rate is $800 an hour. $695 document fee I asked was it made of gold! Seriously how long does it take to fill out documents Am I literally paying for the person it does their week salary? So they call me back and said hey we'll knock of a couple hundred to work with you but now we're taking a LOSS. So I agree to the deal. On my way there on a Saturday I get my windshield shattered outside of Pittsburgh. I had to get my van towed, trailer left side of highway. I end up spending the weekend in a hotel till Safelite got a new windshield installed. Between tow, hotel and windshield I paid out a little over a $1000.00 missed out on working 2 days. Longer have enough to purchase the bike and then being closed on Monday we needed to drive back home. Finally I called him and said this ain't working out I'm not going to be able to come get the bike anytime soon send me a refund. I see nothing come back to my bank for another week. Call him up he says I need my bank card number expiration date and Ccv. I told my no longer have that card so he told me without it neither I bought the bike or there's nothing else you can do. I had offered to buy a helmet off their web page and have them ship it to me so they still made a little bit of money but they refused it. Months later I still haven't received my refund and I've got nothing but attitude from Nathan. I'm going to take them to small claims court for the refund the cost of traveling to Virginia to take them to court. I'm also in contact with the attorney general's office in Virginia and the better Business bureau. I'm curious how...
