Animal Tracks is a truly remarkable organization dedicated to the compassionate rescue and rehabilitation of wild animals that have been surrendered by individuals who attempted to keep them as pets. From the moment you step onto the sanctuary grounds, you can feel the love and care that permeates every inch of this place.
The staff at Animal Tracks are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about wildlife conservation. They take the time to educate visitors about the unique needs of each species and the challenges of keeping wild animals in captivity. It's evident that their mission extends beyond just rescue; they aim to foster a deeper understanding of wildlife and the importance of preserving natural habitats.
At the facility, each animal is given the space and resources they need to thrive, and it’s heartwarming to see them exploring and engaging in natural behaviors. The organization also provides enrichment activities, ensuring that the animals remain mentally stimulated and physically active.
Visiting the sanctuary is not just an educational experience; it’s also incredibly inspiring. You leave with a renewed appreciation for wildlife and a greater understanding of the responsibilities that come with caring for animals—both domesticated and wild.
I wholeheartedly recommend supporting Animal Tracks, whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word. They are doing vital work in promoting animal welfare and educating the community. Together, we can help create a world where wild animals are respected in their natural environments, not kept...
Read moreAnimal Tracks was amazing! I went with my partner as an anniversary date and we did the Monkeys and More tour. It was a little pricey, but after the experience it was more than worth it. Animal Tracks is a non profit that relies on the funds from these tours to continue taking care of their animals...and after taking a tour you will feel so happy to have helped. On our tour we got to see an armadillo, possum, fennec fox, wolf/dog hybrid, some huge cat thing, kangaroos and wallaby (and that was all in the first hour!) For these animals the interaction was mostly just petting but the staff is so knowledgable and tells you engaging stories about that animals specific life and facts about their species. The second hour was Monkey time! This was definitely the highlight. The tour group sits at outdoor tables that have a couple of bowls of fruits and snacks. The staff introduce different little monekys (all are leashes, some have diapers). The rules are that you cannot touch/pickup the monkeys. You can offer them food or hold food in your hands. But really this hour you are just a jungle gym for the monkeys. They will come to you, just on your shoulders, head, run across your shoulders from person to person, sometimes they will sit on your arm or hand, try to interact with your clothes. It was soooooo cute and very fun. It felt very interactive even though YOU weren't allowed to touch them, THEY will touch you a ton. We got a lot of cute pictures and had some fun moments as the monkeys were playing with us. You should go for it and book a tour because you will have...
Read moreI visited Animal Tracks over the weekend as part of a group and I, as well as the rest of my group, had a really special and wonderful experience. Chrissy and the entire staff are extremely polite and gracious, and you can see their passion for animal welfare shining through with how happy and well kept all the animals are. Everyone on-site is a volunteer and really works hard and does a great job. I really think everything they do is very commendable and I wish I lived closer because I would volunteer as well. I always research every place that has animals before I go to make sure they are reputable and I can 100% tell you that Animal Tracks is extremely reputable and has a great reputation. They are legitimately a great organization, and visiting is an extremely fun way to spend an afternoon.
It was really hard to choose my favorite animal. I would say, Frank the Tank the Armadillo was the funniest. I loved his love for bouncing balls. I even saw him do a double bounce on his head followed by a bounce on his back all while holding onto the ball, which I certainly cannot do myself. The wolves were beautiful, and watching them run was really special. If I had to choose, I would say the baboon was my favorite. She was really sweet and feisty, and I was just amazed at how tough but also beautiful that species is. They also have horses, donkeys, kangaroos, and a whole host of other animals. All of them are well kept and well fed and it’s a real pleasure to support this business. I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone and I plan to be back...
