We just finished the entire peace trail including a few spurs to sight see and overall, I'd say this is a great trail system. We started on Tues March 5th form Quartzsite and finished in Quartzsite on March 10th. 762.5 miles and we camped along the trail with the exception of 1 night at Hualapai lodge. There were 2 of us and we both had rzr 4 1000's which were outfitted with roof racks, gas mounts, spare tires and parts, and all camping gear. These machine were a great choice as we almost took our quads instead and I'm glad we didn't! The rzrs ran flawless except for 1 flat and we we traveled at moderate speeds to cover our daily mileage goals. I do have 1 HUGE suggestion.... please mark the course with more signage and arrows. I was prepared with a gps so no biggie for us but if anyone wanted to go without a gps and rely on just signage or map, it'd be a challenge, in my opinion. The gps files were an absolute necessity so thank you very much for...
Read moreSome areas are okay to drive and haven’t been wrecked and others are beat to death by ATV riders. Very rough because the dust has been blown off by them leaving only rough rocks and washboard roads. Expect them to act privileged and blow by you leaving clouds of dust. They do not follow the 15 mile an hour speed limit and are extremely discourteous of the campgrounds and others. Many travel in packs and when the first dusts you out they will hold out the number of fingers to let you know how many other obnoxious drivers are coming up behind expecting you to pull over for them. If you don’t do it fast enough they will blow by throwing rocks. It makes camping here miserable if you are anywhere camped near a road. We haven’t seen ANY LAW ENFORCEMENT whatsoever on these roads. They are lawless and rude and aggressive in driving and have plenty of off road trails to drive like maniacs on. Peace trail is not...
Read moreI have explored various segments of the AZ Peace Trail over the years, but mostly by chance. I haven't made an attempt to drive the Peace Trail, but have found myself on or near it on many adventures into the desert and mountains of western Arizona. The trail really does hit some incredible locations that could keep anyone exploring for a lifetime on the AZ Peace Trail alone. From low desert to high montane conifer forest, from the far north to far south, there really is no better way to see Arizona than this. Mind you, this trail is not for the faint of heart or any manner of low-clearance vehicle, and will put you through the harshest elements the state of Arizona has to offer. With that being said, enjoy, and be safe!
The pictures in this review are compiled from my adventures over the years. They include a dynamic perspective of the environments you will encounter, and remind you why this trail...
