On Thursday June 10, 2021 I went into the Y.M.C.A. Wade Walker Park rec. Center with the intentions of speaking to the director named Lornal. When I entered the building I was automatically redirected to the membership desk . when I approached the desk I was told by a staff member that Lornal was in a meeting and they would make her aware that I would wait to speak with her. Please be aware that this was not my 1st attempt in trying to speak with Lornal in Reguards to billing issues that I had concerning the Y.C.C.program that was put into place for the school year of 2020-2021 . THE Y.C.C program was put into place for students who needed supervision for online learning. Specifically for students who's parents decided not to send the students back to school due to the on going COVID-19 Pandemic that the world has fail victim to. I sat and waited patiently for Lornal to finish up her meeting so that she may then sit and meet with me to resolve my Billing/refund matter that needed to be resolved. While waiting a staff member from the wade walker Y.M.C.A. approched me and apologizd for the long time period that the director Lornal had me waiting. The staff member then provided with a contact number to reach out to corporate in hopes that calling corprate could resolve my matter. After waiting for over 1 hour and 15 mins. I decided to leave the facility since the unprofessionalism, rude and horrible time managment of Lornal did not seem to prompt her to acknowledge my presence to speak with her directly while she was fully aware that I was waiting to speak with her only. Upon leaving the building I sat in My car for just a few moments and I decided to leave my contact info for the director in hopes that she would contact me via telephone. As soon as I re-entered the building a staff member had Informed me that Lornal had just came up to the front desk but she had walked away again. I said no problem I will wait for you to call her back up to the front again. The staff member proceeded to call Lornal, he then walked to to back to look for her as well. Finally he sees Lornal at the refrigeratored area and he approches her and tells her that I was and I am still waiting to speak with her. Lornal then looks at me from across the room and tells the staff memeber to take down my name, number and email address and she refuseses to speak with me. That behavior and response from someone who sits in a leadership position was very unprofessional ,inconsiderate and un acceptable. Finally after having that bad experience and waiting for over 1 hour to speak with her and she NEVER spoke with me . I have decided not to conduct anymore business with the Y.M.C.A. Wade walker location anymore. 1 bad experience with a company is enough bad experiences for a lifetime. Inconclusion wade walker decided not to access me a refund because the funds were already paid out to their staff for that week although my student did not access any of there services that week and because they had no refund policy in place Y.M.C.A decided not to honor my refund per my request. That makes no since. Read moreThe director of the summer camp/facility Lorna Loh along with a staff member Mrs. Culpepper allow the children and other staff to bully and Harrass My grandson. They lie and try and cover up the mistreatment . My daughter has had meetings and spoke with staff several times. I have also reached out to staff. The communication is terrible.with the staff. No changes have been made.The camp counselors have taken his water bottles from him and made him give them to other children. He has been forced to stand up in time out for long periods of time. He was also been made to eat his lunch on the floor. He has been questioned by camp counselors about reports that his mother has made. It's a very unsafe environment and the children have no one to advocate for themselves. My grandson is a special needs child and they are well aware of this. Still no change.
I also wanted to add that there was a incident that occurred with another child who banged my grandson head in the floor, my daughter was told the reason it happened was because my grandson was antagonizing the child. So I called the police about this Matt er when the paramedics arrived he was told a completely different story. He was told that both children were playing around. The staff ask the paramedics to cancel the police, so no report was filed. However re called today and was able to file a report about that incident and the way Mrs Culpepper, and some of the other staff have been treating him. We won't stop until we get answers. This place needs to thoroughly be investigated .Mrs Culpepper has been working there for years and getting away with mistreating the children. All of the other staff follow behind her. They use young, unmonitored teens to operate without an experienced adult worker present to oversee them.
Also, when I had to contact an administrator due to a tablet stolen out of my grandsons bookbag. I was told by an administrator that a tablet matching that description was turned in and she would call me back the next day (Friday). Never received that call.... My husband went inside the building to inquire about it Monday AM and was told to wait..he waited a long while but had to leave for work. I went in Monday evening and was told to wait, eventually the non calling administrator came out and advised me the tablet was turned over to another individual...??? Simply based on them saying they lost a tablet...when we reported ours stolen??? So.. Our stolen tablet was apparently lost by the thief turned in and given back to the thief???
Never were we contacted about the device before it was given back to this person... It was very easy to determine ownership by the very detailed description we gave of our device and by simply turning on the device to see our accounts & pictures!!!!
By now the thief has probably wiped our data off but we still have the serial number as proof....
Sad when administration is a part of the problem!!
Thankfully this is the last week of summer camp...if we ever return or not will be determined by what happens by the end of this week... Next step... the police will be called!! So unnecessary!!
Also, I cannot find email contact information for the administration and calling is clearly ineffective. Waiting on a return call from 2 administrators...the original one who I will name soon and the person over them as of this morning!! I like written communication when it gets to...
