I have lived in Richland for over 40 years. One of the best things about this area is the public walking/biking paths. You can walk or bike for over 50 miles through 5 cities. I love walking the river trail in Richland. There are lots of access points for people that don't know the area well. Almost any hotel is located right on the path, others are a block away. Once you are on the path you can head North or South. There are two family friendly parks along the trail from Richland. Howard Amon and Leslie Groves. HA has more kid friendly toys and playground equipment, plus a mini Zipline. LG has fewer toys but has a sand volleyball court and horseshoe pits. You can BBQ or picnic at either park. Tons of picnic tables and LOTS of shade. If you are a jogger you can run for 10 miles easily. If you cross a road or two or a bridge(pedestrian friendly) you can run 50 or more. I walk along the river everyday. If you are visiting Richland it's worth checking out for a down day to take the kids to the park, have a picnic and enjoy...
Read moreNice park, but always crowded. Smallish, compared to other local parks, but with a very large parking area for boat trailers (and the vehicles towing them, of course!) It is a popular place for fishing from the bank of the Columbia, and a good rest area along the popular foot and bike path that runs from North Richland to this spot and then either crosses over to Pasco or heads west toward the Kennewick exit or the Queensgate area of South Richland. There are water fountains, benches along the path, and a clean restroom, as well as a playground for the kids, a protected picnic area, and plenty of open grassy area for play. It's not one of my favorite area parks, but is...
Read moreThis is a cool place situated on the Columbia River in Richland, Washington. The area has a large park, large boat ramp, huge parking lot, an RV dump station, and trails that run along the river. The place looks well maintained and clean. Although I never saw any signs about dogs off leash in the grassy areas, there were a couple running and having fun playing with their owners. The marina is just off of the George Washington Express way. The RV dump is free and well kept. The water works, and it's wide enough that you're out of...
