Riverview Cemetery — Attraction in Richmond

Let's start with my sister's tombstone. She was 2 years old, when she passed. The entire Angel was knocked off her tombstone about 5 years ago. It was just laying on the ground. There are scrape marks all over, where they hit it with the mower.

For about a year now, the entire tombstone is laying on the ground.

I've called repeatedly and received nothing but excuses. Then the entire tombstone was moved still on its back away from where she is buried.

I called and they laid it on its back over the hole where it should be upright.

Called Monday and Demetrius assured me he would fix it in the morning. In addition, he would send me photos.

He gave me his cell and I texted him photos and exact location of the grave. He said he would send a photo of it being repaired. I texted him, no response. Tried calling the cell, this phone doesn't accept incoming calls. My family understands things happen but they knew what happened and both times walked away. I'll be calling the media next...

On Memorial Day of 2013 , my wife and i went to honor my parents. We were disgusted at the upkeep of the entire cemetary. Upon entering the cemetery we saw no attempt by the owner to make sure all the grass was cut and the tidiness was horrible. We had to walk thru uncut grass and debry to honor my relatives. The surrondings of my visit was upsetting and disgusting to belief someone is getting paid for doing nothing. The next day i followed up by expression my disgusted and concerns about Riverview Cemetery. The only thing i got were excuses and attempted intimidation for poor management and incompetent to do the job of maneuvering the cemetery. I would recommend maybe hiring a different crew to do a competent job. I want management to understand that cutting the grass in my parents plot is not a solution to what i witnessed because other people have loveone at this...

I am ashamed to say it had been years since I visited my Godmother’s grave. I had to pull tall grass out from around the headstone, and pick up clumps of dead, cut grass from the top of the four gravesites in the family group (there is a corner marker stating perpetual care). The roads were in terrible shape (because I had to drive around a bit looking for the landmark I knew was near it). I have gone a few times now in the last year, and I still have to remove thick clumps of dead grass. This means it’s not getting mowed frequently enough. I did call the office, and it was acknowledged the place was in great need - but as with everything else city owned, it’s not at the top...
