Great logical fun, even for an experienced escape artist. We've done over 60 escape rooms and came to Rochester to do some more. We ended up doing every room at Escape Challenge because we had so much fun! Every room had logical puzzles (we didn't see a single leap of logic which is refreshing). There were definitely unique puzzles we hadn't seen before and the owner was a great game master and was super willing and fun to talk to afterwards about escape rooms! Frank N Steins lab was our favorite room for sure. But bomb makers apartment was super fun, followed by creature room and Dr Eugene's Diagnosis. There wasn't a bad one in the bunch which is rare with that many rooms! I love that this company had rooms available for a couple (without that annoying four person minimum at the other companies in town). The rooms are definitely achievable for an experienced pair, but I could see larger groups having fun as well! This would be a great place for newbies as well as provide a challenge for experienced escape room...
Read moreBest escape room in MN? Clearly not…Our experience at this escape room was downright frustrating. The room itself was mediocre at best, but what truly ruined the night was our so-called “guide.” From the moment we arrived, they were rude, dismissive, and acted like they couldn’t care less about being there. Instead of letting us work through the puzzles, they constantly shoved hints at us—even when we were already on the right track! We only asked for one hint, yet they bombarded us with so many that it made it impossible for us to qualify for the leaderboard. The whole experience felt unfair and completely ruined any sense of challenge or accomplishment. To make matters worse, their condescending attitude made it clear they had no interest in making our visit enjoyable.
The only redeeming factor? The Frankenstein theme was decent, but even that couldn’t make up for the terrible customer service. Honestly, the best part of this place was the bathrooms—because at least those were well-maintained. Safe to say, we won’t be...
Read moreI brought my 14 yr old son and 7 of his friends to the Escape Challenge - Bomb Maker's Apt. Our family has visited about 8 other escape rooms in the past so we have some ability to compare. When we arrived, the front entrance had a nice clean appearance, and had various puzzles and padlocks as an introduction for those participants who have never experienced an escape room. The staff person who greeted us was super patient and helpful for the young party participants. During the 4 room escape room experience, she watched them (via video camera) and gave clues when needed. I was a little worried she would not let the kids be in the room without an adult, but to my relief it was not a problem. With her help, my son and his friends were successful in their escape with 32 seconds remaining. The whole experience was a big highlight for my...
