First off, Let me start by saying that Anni and Doon are INCREDIBLE!! What they have created here is a direct reflection of them!! Loving, caring, fun, hardworking .... they are never too busy to help make your stay as welcoming and comfortable as they can!! They just radiate Joy and Peace!! I don't have the words to truly express what beautiful people they are but I hope that they know!!
I Absolutely LOVED The Stable Inn!! Its beauty and uniqueness combined with location made for the perfect getaway. There are so many things about it that I loved, like the Incredible book nook (as I called it) with plenty of natural light..where I could literally sit for hours... there is a kitchen upstairs AND downstairs (they were Both beautifully thought out) and are equipped with everything you would have in your kitchen at home.. and more... the artwork throughout made it even more special. I was there with a large group of people and the space was perfect!! The variety of room styles made it even more fun and accommodating. It was super clean and tidy! Even the shared bathrooms!! There are several common areas to choose from and they are also different from one another. The bathrooms also varied in style... each of the rooms (every type) had their own flair and personality! WiFi was GREAT!! I had no cell service (which was fine with me...) but I did have WiFi! I couldn't believe how comfortable the beds were!! I mean everything was just so relaxed and comfortable that I felt like I was home for holidays.
I could go on and on ...
The Inn is just filled with love! You can tell that it was created with purpose other than just somewhere to stay. Whether you are staying alone or with a group, it has a little something for everyone.
Another Plus: Check out the Art Gallery AND the bike shop!! Throw some extra Awesomeness into your trip!!
Thank You SO much Stable Inn for having us and showing us so much love... Until...
Read moreThis inn is a great option for budget minded travelers visiting Rochester, VT. Impressively furnished given the modest price. It’s not quite a full-on hotel, but to call it a hostel or a rooming house would be selling it way short. It’s basically a collection of a few dozen simple bedrooms of varying sizes plus a few larger suites. There are several shared bathrooms, a couple shared kitchens, and a couple shared sitting areas. There were only a few other guests the night I stayed so it was peaceful, quiet, and there were no issues with bathroom access or such. It’s like being a guest in someone’s large home, except the host doesn’t live here. They meet you at check in, show you around, give you a key card, and you are on your own. The entire building has been completely renovated within the last year or two so everything is in great shape and very modern. The place is also impressively clean. I was on a solo motorcycle trip so didn’t need anything fancy, just a place to crash after riding, along with a clean bathroom, someplace decent nearby that I could walk to for dinner, and a sofa where I could sit and read before bed. This inn checked all those boxes for me at barely $100 for the room. I will absolutely look here first when visiting the area again.
Make a point to have dinner across the street at Maple Soul if they are open when you visit… a fabulous upscale (yet casual) bistro.
Rochester is clearly on its way up with the Stable Inn, a nice art gallery, couple good restaurants, a new...
Read moreI had heard about the newly opened Stable Inn in Rochester, VT, and was excited to check it out. It was clear from the start of my 2-night stay that there is a special energy here. Maybe it was the clean and sophisticated décor, where fine woodworking, natural surfaces and original artworks soothe the eye at every turn. Or maybe it was the welcoming communal areas which invite you to sit, converse, and laugh with friends and family; or the inviting kitchens stocked with fine coffee and first quality tea. The local Vermont tap water is clean and potable, meaning you can fill your water bottle straight from the faucet. I - as well as other savvy guests - gravitated quickly to a second floor snug corner with south-facing picture windows, where one can curl up with a book and bask in the sun. I am not a mountain biker but heard epic tales from happy trail warriors over breakfast!
The innkeeper Anni Mackay's passionate vision and values of community, hospitality, support of the local economy and use of renewable energy, fuse harmoniously in this inviting haven of rest and recreation. The beds are dreamy-comfortable with soft, luxurious linens and abundant pillows. The building is ideally located in Rochester for the exploring art collector, bookworm, gourmand or athletic biker/hiker.
The atmosphere and flavor of The Stable Inn makes it an affordable home-away-from-home, both fresh and spacious, practically fitted out yet aesthetically serene. I would stay again in...
