There's a great deal that this place has to offer, and I have a feeling that they're just getting started. You can see it in the attention to detail. You can feel it in the enthusiasm of every volunteer or staff I came in contact with. For $20 we got a 7 mile round trip train ride that lasted about 40 minutes. There wasn't a great presentation on the history or the railroad, which made it easier to just enjoy the scenery. For another $10 we got the trolley ride that was 4 miles round trip, that lasted 45 minutes, which included a history lesson on the trolley, but also on the iron that was once produced in that region. Pay close attention to the beautiful woodwork in these trolley cars. They capture the imagination. While the EBT railroad station has been restored to it's original glory with such attention to detail, and it's gift shop had fun, relatively inexpensive souvenirs and was big enough without being overwhelming, the trolley gift shop was more of a book store, and could use some polishing. But the thing about this place is that there is so much to explore, and we didn't know how to go about it. It has this incredible roundhouse that screamed to be explored. While it's not fair to compare this place to the likes of The Strasburg Railroad, or Steamtown National Historical Site in Scranton, it has the buildings, the history and the infrastructure solidly in place. I see this is as the little engine who CAN, and will.

We were going to take our Ohio family on this trip but it was so hot we decided to try it after they left and rate for something different next year when they come. So… yes, it was hot but we knew that going in. We chose the open air car. A few people fussed about the hard seat but it was not anything we found terrible. Sadly tho, the scenery was less than spectacular. Highway, people’s back yards, junked out vehicles. That was very disappointing. I don’t think it was worth $22.00 per person. The ride was 40 minutes. That being said, this might be a really nice ride in the fall when the leaves change. Also, consider evening tours. More likely to see deer in the fields if riding maybe 5:00-6:00. We will try again in the fall and give it a second chance. We may try the trolley ride before summer is over to see if it’s worth taking the extended family. They only come in the summer so I don’t think I’ll recommend the train ride. Got maybe 2 decent pictures. On a separate note… staff rating is A++++++ Wonderful, engaging, informative and God love them for wearing what they need to wear when it was 90 degrees.

I was visiting out in PA from Kansas and looking for steam railroads to ride on. I had seen a bit about the East Broad Top on YouTube and it looked really interesting. The locomotive is beautifully restored. The station is beautiful as well. I would have loved to go on a shop tour as that all looked really interesting as well but, unfortunately, I didn't realize they did that until it was too late. The ride is a bit short but it was interesting as it was the first time I have ever ridden a Wye, where they turn the train around. The pricing was fine, not expensive at all and the ride was enjoyable and the scenery was nice. I would definitely like to visit again and go on a tour. They also have a vintage trolley ride available which looked nice as well. I definitely would recommend this place for anyone who likes steam trains and their history. I took my brothers with me who were not as much into trains and they found it interesting and enjoyable as well.

This place is a literal time machine, a direct link to our industrial past and a treasure. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, the event (Peanuts weekend) was enjoyable and well patronized. Only concern was the size of the gift shop, very small and compact and with the size of the crowd, was quite hard to navigate. I recommend buying tickets ahead of time, especially for special events, as the booth can be very slow due to the options that are available. Ride is relatively short, like a half an hour to the wye where the train is turned. If you do ride the open car behind the engine, I recommend bringing and wearing safety glasses with side shields as cinders are flying and ya may catch a hot one in the eye :) Strongly recommend a ride! The trolley museum is adjacent to the EBT but that's a review for another time :)

We visited on a Wednesday afternoon and got a personal immersive tour from Andrew. He was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the railroad and we learned so much interesting history. It felt like a privilege to be able to see history frozen in time. The steam engines are impressive and make me think about life in a simpler era. The immersive tour is suggested for ages 8+. My 6 year old remained interested and Andrew was great with engaging her, but my 4 year old puttered out pretty early. We plan to visit again for a train ride. Tickets for tours and train rides are on the more expensive side, but I feel good about my money going to the restoration of this important historic site. Thanks for a great experience!

Very well preserved narrow gauge steam train and station. We rode on one of the open air cars since it was 90° the day we were there. In the future I'd like to ride on one of the enclosed cars when the weather is cooler, since they looked to have much more comfortable seats. We were not able to take a tour of the facilities because each one was sold out (I booked the night before), but the man at the ticket counter told me that you should ideally book tickets for the tour a week in advance, due to their popularity. All the staff and conductors were very helpful and kind. There were also two food trucks there, and our whole group was impressed with the food and the prices. We will be back!
