Very basic park, but has a nice beach. The lake is very clean with very few weeds or sharp rocks or critters in the swimming area. Water was pretty warm when we went two weeks ago in early August. The sand area was quite small this year due to higher water levels than normal, but it was a normal sized beach area in previous years. There was still a little bit of open sand for the kids to play in this year. Anyone sunbathing just set up camp on the nice grass above the retaining wall along the beach. Park bathrooms had real toilets and a separate changing area and were quite clean. This lake doesn't get a lot of wind which makes it nice for paddling. There are no life guards, so you can use tubes or put your paddle boards or kayaks in right at the beach. Parking is free and just a short distance from the beach. This park also has a playground near the beach and is across the street from a Dairy Queen. It was moderately busy the Sunday afternoon we went here. This is probably my new favorite quieter swimming beach in the area. I...

My husband and I brought our cat with us to have a picnic for supper at Lake Josephine. We wanted to sit at a picnic table but the sun was right in our eyes and the wind was blowing everything off the table. Our cat was on a leash and halter and had a great time meeting new people who had their picture taken with him. It was heartening to see parents with their children in the jungle gym play area. The park also has a boat launch, benches, ample parking, and restrooms though they may not be open yet for the season. Dairy Queen is right across the street so after we ate our sandwiches, we went to the drive through and then back to the park to sit and eat our sundaes while overlooking the lake. Very pleasant way to spend a lovely spring evening. The cat wasn't as enamored as we were as he does not like riding in a vehicle so the short ride to and from the park was...

This is a pretty good park and a good beach. The playground is nice and well kept with an accessible on-ramp into the play area making it very nice for everyone. It is a woodchip base so if you're wearing sandals you can get wood chips in your feet. There are a few swings and good slides to play in. Tree cover is very nice to help provide shade and there are a couple of benches.

The beach is pretty nice and long. There is a swimming area there but this beach is rather rocky. There are beaches in the surrounding area that are much more sandy which makes it more pleasant for walking around barefoot. The bathrooms nearby are good for changing.

A popular thing to do at this park is to walk across to the Dairy Queen. I would say that that is one of the bigger attractions in the summer time and that this park can...

Such a handy beach to go to. Right off of Lexington Ave. In Arden Hills. It has the right size playground (where you're not having to follow your child around tons of different slides, bridges and tunnels), a beach for swimming and a boat launch. It sits right across from a Dairy Queen, perfect for a cold treat or maybe to have a picnic on a beautiful Summer day. I know the fish that we've caught are sunnies.

The park is always very clean and has great parking. The water is pretty shallow for a while off shore, soft sand, and lots of swimming space. Most of the laying-out space is grass. Unfortunately, I don’t have picture of the actual beach area but I bring my dog her to swim all the time! Lots of more secluded areas to swim here too. At this area, there are also bathrooms, a playground, and boat access.

It's not a beach kind of a park, the strip of sand between the retaining wall and the water is five feet wide at best. But there's plently of grassy gentle slopes, nice big trees and a pretty sweet playground to make up for it. For a peaceful summer afternoon of eating ice cream from the DQ across the road and watching moms wade with their toddlers while the clouds go by, there's no place better.
