SACRAMENTO Seafood and Soul Festival/Jazz 2024…
Now let’s get into it, first off I want to say that I love love love Michele she gave a great performance. Her microphone went off and broke three times during performances she left the stage and came into the grass and started singing with the crowd. I loved it. So let’s get to the shenanigans. The parking instructors or whoever was working was taking money and there was nowhere to park. The woman took my $50.00 and assumed that I didn’t have any tickets. I told the staff that I have VIP tickets for star stage on my phone. She returned my money and let me through. There was three categories for ticket purchasing $400 for a table of 10 with a canopy. 2nd was basic VIP for $35 at the round tables with chairs no canopy. Lastly was the basic sale price of $25 but you got a bring your own chair your own blanket, your own whatever to sit on.. Me and my mom get there and was placed at a table star stage tables. It was 105 degrees that day so a lot of people was super hot and dehydrated so they prompt to move our table to open space under a canopy next to the supreme $400 VIP table. So the security guards came and started moving and rolling our table in our chairs to the shaded area, all our chairs was taken by other guest who showed up 3 hours late and also purchased VIP star stage seats. I kindly asked the security staff to provide us with more chairs, he only found 2 and 8 chairs was taken total. My frustration began to grow, the women who showed up 3 hours late argued prior that they didn’t have seats after purchasing VIP as well. The security guard and I did not get his name, approach me and my mom at the table and told US to get up that this table was reserved bye the band member families. I told him the black and white wrist bands are for star stage and the gold bands are for $400 reserved. The last staff member moved our table to the shaded area due to extreme heat and that this wasn’t a table for $400 just basic seating. He yelled and screamed at me to move and get up, I did not. This event was so unorganized and unprofessional. After 30 mins of arguing with this grown staff member, he told me to enjoy our self. I could not after that. So we left the event in shambles and highly disappointed. You can see the pictures attached, no chair’s. However they didn’t approach anyone else except us. Worst experience ever. The food was good and the vendors were fantastic. Staff members and organizers No No No.
Whoever organized this event, please attach names to the tables of the people who purchased their tickets so that way there will be no mixups in the near future in the front entrance should not collect people money prior to scanning...
Read moreMiller Regional Park is somewhat nice, but, I would say it was great by any means. Yes, there are b athrooms, however, much like the typical restrooms in an outdoors public venue, they are not kept very clean and I personally would only use them in an extreme emergency. Even though the gates stay open past dark, the park is supposed to shut down at that time. If you are there after closing, local police can and will speak to you, which does make one feel a bit safer, however, a ticket can be issued (for loitering I think). There are picnic tables scattered throughout the park, and, if I am not mistaken, little outdoor grills as well. There are several little unofficial trails down to the rivers edge where you can find local fisherman, dog-walkers, etc. My dog can always find a little place to run in to go swimming, but there aren't any beaches and I would personally recommend going elsewhere if you want to take a dip. The park itself is mostly clean, but little piles of rubbish can be found on a short walk. There is enough parking available that one should rarely, if ever, have an issue. Like I said, the park is somewhat nice, but with proper maintenance could be...
Read moreLARGE park, with lots of space for jogging and bicycling, yet not as much playground equipment as you'd think, in my opinion. Lots of the park borders the water on one side. Marina access and boat launch are here also. Fishing is allowed from many areas in the park. Public restrooms are available during the day. Very clean park with very little trash to speak of. They do a nice job caring for the homeless in the area by a group that gives them a controlled environment to be safe day and night as well as some shelter. This was awesome to see and does not affect park visitors at all. I thought it was a great idea and was glad to see assistance for the homeless. I was surprised by the volume of "cruising" happening here, especially on weekends. From what I saw, those that participate don't seem to affect anyone adversely that I could see so I say "good on you!" if that's what you like! There is something for everyone here at...
