I am in an abusive relationship with the A La Kora seafood plate from Altos Cantina. From the first day I partook of this particular dish, I was besieged by both the pain and pleasure that it brought, and continues to bring me. Oh, she showed me her hand right from the beginning: fried shrimp sauteed with lime juice, onions, spicy prawns and hot sauce. But I clearly did not understand that it was the sum of those parts that would render me a slave. The very first bite is but a lure; the flavors beckon one in further and further, taking you on a journey so blissful that not even the odious sounds of reggaeton in the background (my only gripe with Altos, but that’s just me) can cause interruption. Suddenly, it begins. First comes a strange tingle at the very crown of the head, followed by an almost tribal awakening of the nasal passages. The heat comes not all at once, but with a creeping realization that there is no going back-ice water be damned! You are compelled to eat more, as though the delay in each bite gives the mind time to ask: just how far are you willing to go? But this does not stop you. Much like those indigenous tribes who seek knowledge from Peyote and Ayahuasca, or the boys of the Sateré-Mawé tribe of Brazil who can only attain manhood by withstanding the blinding pain of hundreds of bullet ant stings, your path to transcendence must be seen through. Read moreWell about 2 months ago my first time coming here I had a good experience. The second round horrible horrible experience. In the beginning things were doing well. Until we got the chips. After a few bites. My lady ate a piece of plastic. Luckily she didn't swallow it.
I informed the waitress she only said sorry. Didn't offer anything, didn't care to try to make us happy. And when I was talking to her she said I was making her nervous. Nervous for What. Maybe my skin color. That's only thing I could think of. Was making her nervous. I don't know why. I have a really nice personality. It's not hard to be nice and friendly. And then she goes to another waitress gossiping and laughing about the situation.
I was treated very poorly. This place is awful.
My black community I don't think they want our money. You'll make...

Also notice how they change the menu to reflect the extra charge on the ceviche! Thank you for listening to my feedback.
LOOK at your receipt before paying.
Food was good, service was good.
I got the CEVICHE CAMPECHANO which was Combo of Shrimp (camarón), Octopus (pulpo) & Fish (pescado). As stated on the menu.
When we paid, they added $4 for the octopus! Originally we were told it was extra and they stood firm with it.
I asked for the menu to see the price, and I explained the verbiage doesn’t say anything about the octopus being extra.
Wasn’t worth asking for that $4 refund since we already paid, but I did express that if it’s $4, they need to change...
