I am a former member of faith church at the earth city campus. I attended this church for about 6 or 7 years growing up until I graduated high-school and left for the military. In fact I remember as a young girl when pastor crank was on tv at his original church in Fenton, Mo. I absolutely loved this church growing up! I saw it as a fun, safe, and interactive environment to learn about God and all he has planned for me. Pastor Crank and his wife Nicole did a great job at relating the Bible to everyday problems things that the average person could relate to and apply in their own lives and I loved that. Recently over the last year or two coming home to visit family in St. Louis of course I attended faith church on Sundays. Over that period of time I became more and more unimpressed. It was like every time I went he was either not there or it was a movie themed service. Which ok I understand he’s expanding and he has to spend time at his other campuses. I could put that all behind me if it weren’t for this past service I attended on July 7th 2019. He was actually there this time which I was excited about seeing that my husband and I invited some close family. The worship service was outstanding as it always is. Pastor Crank then gets on stage gives no recognition or prayer for the people who have served this country as it is the Fourth of July weekend and then begins to preform a comedy show! It was absolutely a disgrace to Gods name! He was on stage just randomly throwing out bible verses not relating it to anything or speaking to it. More or less he was up there to get laughs. He then began making inappropriate cracks at Nicole when they first met made a joke about how she wore short skirts and if he had a swing! Absolutely just unbecoming of any upright man of God! Ok I’m only 21 and even I know there’s just certain things you don’t say in church let alone being the pastor and head of the church. When he started throwing himself on the floor and doing push ups myself and our entirely family got up and left! Needless to say we forgive him but we will not be returning. Pastor Crank has clearly let the expansion of his church and brand get to his head. It’s know longer about bringing people to God and teaching them it’s about getting people in the seats and making them laugh. I’m so thankful that my husband and I attend the church we do in North Carolina or we would’ve never understood how a good faith based...
Read moreLast year in 2023 I called Faith Church five separate times just inquiring if they might have a church van or something of that nature as I was out of a car for quite a while. I did not receive one return call, no voice message, nothing. I have attended face in Earth city sporadically and there's an overwhelming number of people. The couple times that I went by myself I really had nobody to talk to and I tried. I'm wondering like other people have wondered what is Faith Church truly teaching. Unfortunately I get a very strong feeling of very materialistic ideals coming out of the church teachings as well as just the demonstration that people display. You would think you would be more like "love your neighbor as yourself." You would expect people to reach out (more) and show the love of our Lord...
Read moreI love the amount of diversity at Faith Church! In today's society there can be a lot of noise about stereotypes & if left to dwell in our hearts it can cause many to limit their interactions with others. At Faith Church, it makes connecting with others not only encouraged (to help build our circle of support & accountability) but vital in us branching out, learning, & embracing our church family (despite our differences).
Maybe you've determined this isn't a church for you & if so, that's okay. However, it's essential to give it a realistic chance before passing irrational judgements on something unknown (unexperienced). As for me & countless others, the choice has been beneficial to our personal growth & spiritual walk. The door is...
