Milton Vretenar Memorial Park — Attraction in Saint Francis

I really like this little park. It's got swings for big and little kids and a bunch of really decent equipment for how tucked away it is. There's a small park building with a covered sitting area nearby but the bathrooms were locked last time we went mid May 2022. I think there's also a small bandshell further down the way but I haven't checked it out. There's also some decommissioned military artillery which I would assume the park is commemorating. That's not really my thing but it's still interesting to look at. Usually walk here so I'm not entirely sure but I think they just repaved a parking area nearby last summer. Any case the whole area is well taken care of and usually clean.

There was a concert in the park and the band sounded great! It is a really nice setup with lots of seating by the stage and picnic tables all over. The playground is within view of the stage so I let my son play while I watched and listened. The playground had one setup for younger kids and another obstacle like setup for slightly older kids. Everything worked as it should. The bathrooms were right by the playground and were very clean. The local Lions club even had food and drinks for sale at the clubhouse with additional seating and the prices were cheap too! The parking lot has plenty of spots and it is only about 100ft from the lot to the main areas of interest. I also noticed that the park was very clean and the landscaping...

The park itself is why I give three stars and because the bands at St Francis days were good but I give zero stars for the carnival aspect of St Francis days this year they close down at about 8:45 we paid for a bunch of tickets for the rides at about 7:00 and at 8:45 they were already telling us we no longer could ride because they were closing down even though it was advertised to run till 10:30 p.m. I hope they don't use that carnival company again for the ride aspect very unprofessional and ruined a good day out for Labor...
