Great history of the Native American (Odowa), Mormon, and Irish residents of the island. Lots of artifacts, story boards and a gift shop on the first floor. Second floor with exposed hand ax chopped walls is full of period furnishings. Friendly and informative staff. Well worth the short walk up from the ferry pier.

Informative museum about the history of Beaver Island. Native American, Irish and Mormons. Interesting that this small Island was once home to a Mormon King.

I was a little disappointed in our tour and guide. We expected to be able to actually get out at the light house and take photos as well as another area to take photos as well. When we read about the tour it said we would make stops. Well to me a stop is getting out of a vehicle on a tour.

I feel they should do more of the island and include the other lighthouse too.

Possible work with some of the owners and schedule a lunch along with the tour at either the Strawberry or even the hotel.

Just a tourist opinion and we loved meeting the born and raised locals. We had the pleasure of meeting Kathleen W. and found her enchanting, humorous...

Stopped in for a quick visit and it was definitely worth it! Lots of interesting information that we would not have otherwise learned. Plus, Sue, the attendant, recommended some of the best trails on the island that we had not previously explored. Make sure you stop in and ask them if you have any questions or recommendations, they do...

Wonderful exhibits about many facets of the island's history. I particularly enjoyed the "Gutsy women of Beaver Island" display, and the portraits drawn of the island residents. The ladies at the desk were lovely to chat to and the books for sale were great as well. This was one of my favorite parts of our trip...
