Our trip was marred by significant inefficiencies. Despite arriving promptly at the Westin dock at 0730, as instructed, check-in did not commence until 0740ish, and we were not able to board the vessel until after 0800. This delay was not only unexpected but also set the tone for the rest of the trip, leaving us feeling somewhat disheartened.
Upon boarding, a crew member briefed us on the itinerary. We were informed that we would embark on an approximately hour-long hike, which was described as not very strenuous. This was a stark contrast to the website's description, which stated, 'There is a non-strenuous 15-minute walk to reach the Baths once we are off the boat.' This discrepancy left us feeling misled and unsure about the accuracy of the other details provided on the website. Two members of our group decided not to participate in the hike after hearing the hike's description from the crew member.
Once loaded into the taxis, we were driven through town and eventually arrived at the park. We were herded into a shelter to wait while the crew obtained our entry. We waited approximately 10-15 minutes. We weren't offered water or told where we could purchase water. Thankfully, we did eventually find the restaurant, where the two who didn't participate could wait for us.
Next was the hour-long hike to Devil's Bay, The Caves, Poor Man's Bar, and back up to the restaurant. It does, in fact, take about an hour and is also moderately strenuous, specifically in the caves, where you have to navigate slippery steps/ladders, use ropes to cross rock formations steadily and navigate through small spaces.
After the physically demanding hike, we finally arrived at the restaurant. We were given 10 minutes (perhaps a little longer) to recuperate and enjoy the pool before our lunch was served. This felt rushed and didn't allow us to fully appreciate the post-hike relaxation we were looking forward to. The live music and views were amazing; we only wish we had more time here.
Next up was the short trip to the island for snorkeling. The ride was very nice and breezy. We arrived at the island at 1353 and were given instructions and directions on where to snorkel and where the caves were. At this time, we were notified that the bar was now open for alcoholic beverages. We were called back in from snorkeling at approximately 1445- not even a full hour of snorkeling. We departed the island and returned to St. John.
While the views and hike were amazing, the online description of this trip is very misleading and leaves a lot to the imagination. The crew members were polite, fun and attentive. As a trip that is not inexpensive, it would have been nice to have a clearer picture so appropriate expectations...
Read moreI booked their Days End Sunset Sail and arrived a bit early after receiving a text offering a 30% discount on another tour, which I was interested in. I wanted to book the Guided Jet Ski Tour but was informed they had no jet skis available when I asked about it. Disappointing.
The real issue came when I went to check in for the sunset sail and was told there was a "no shoes" policy on board, which I was not informed about in advance. The dock person said I could keep shoes on for medical reasons, but then also told me the shoes I had on would not work and would damage the boat’s floor. When I returned to the desk clerk for clarification, I was told this was mentioned in their terms and conditions—but when I asked to see where those terms were, the clerk could not provide a clear answer.
I asked for a refund, only to be told that I would have had to cancel at least 1 hour before the tour. While I understand that businesses have rules, this experience left me disappointed. I would have appreciated clearer communication about the policies both when booking and in the follow-up messages, as this miscommunication significantly...
Read moreWhat an excellent day from start to finish on the Lime Out cruise!
As a Westin guest, this could not be more convenient, and check in / pick up is right at the hotel. Breakfast was great and very unique, with a mix of overnight oats, croissants, donuts, and egg muffins. Then we went to our first snorkel spot - phenomenal!!!! I swam with a gorgeous sea turtle and saw some beautiful fish. After that stop, the bar opened and had some GREAT options. A lot of Caribbean snorkel cruises come with rum punches that you can’t drink more than a couple of. Not this cruise! There were local beers and hard seltzers in addition to hard liquor. It was so cool making a stop at Lime Out for an hour or so. The tacos were phenomenal and two were included in the price of the booking! Second snorkel spot was beautiful as well. Izzy, Nico, and Brandon were all SO nice and so professional. It couldn’t be more clear that they really wanted to make this the best experience possible for everyone. Excellent experience that I would certainly recommend for anyone spending time...
