Giovanni Gelato & Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Saint John

Oh my goodness- best gelato and coffee on the island hands down!

My family and I stumbled upon Giovanni’s today when going grocery shopping at Starfish Market. The beautiful artwork from the window drew us in. We had no idea that the artist (Katia) and her friendly gelato making husband (Giovanni) would greet us warmly with a smile & the best tasting gelato we’ve ever had. My son and daughter shared a single dish of vanilla and arm wrestled over who would get the last scoop. I had their newly created “Frappuccino” which was a mixture of espresso, vanilla gelato, chocolate syrup, milk, whipped cream and absolutely delicious. My mother and husband each had a Vietnamese coffee and loved their choice.

We will be stopping by daily during our time...

Impromptu stop at Giovanni’s Gelato was outstanding! The Wild Cherry (in Italian I can’t recall what it is) and Cocco (Coconut) flavors were decadent, fresh and perfectly balanced and I was so sad I got a small! We will be back tomorrow. Gelato can be brunch, right? They also do gelato stuffed cannoli, and other chef-made pastries. The owner, a retired chef who is now doing what he loves as a Pastry Chef is so friendly-you will be blissfully delighted when you stop here- right across the way from Starfish Market in Cruz Bay, maybe I’ll get a picture tomorrow, but today was all about the enjoyment! #gelato #giovannigelatocoffeeshop #SaintJohnUSVI...

Born and raised in Italy...after a week of local food and drinks I was craving a nice Italian coffee and gelato. I walked 15 minutes under the sun to get to Giovanni's... But it was well worth it! I combined my two cravings into an affogato which was perfect! Very nice atmosphere in this small cafe/gelateria with art by Katia the owner's wife. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Giovanni.... But we got excellent and friendly service by Troy. I wish they had a booth close(r) to the beach and I would definitely suggest they kept their place open later in the warm St John's nights. Wish Giovanni's shop...
