It is a decent park. I went in November. It did not meet my expectations. The park was still nice though.

My goal was to see the waterfall and walk to the Mississippi River shore. I did both. I was thinking there would be a bit of a hike to get to both, but it was probably 5 minutes to get the the shore and 10 minutes to get the the waterfall.

The waterfall actually took more time to get to because there are no signs. I did have to look up someone else's review to eventually find it. (Park in first lot. Walk behind the building with the shelters around it. Follow that path and it brings you right there.) It's a pretty cool walk. The waterfall itself is underwhelming, but it still was nice. Maybe there is more waterflow when it is warmer.

The shore was nice. It is a mixure of small and medium size rocks with sand. Watch your step.

The park itself honestly looks a little dangerous. There are alot of fallen trees and trees that look like they might fall soon. Perhaps it is from past flooding, but it did make me a little uneasy walking on the trails in the woods. (I only walked in the area near the parking lots.) They did give the park more character and a bit of a challenge. For example on the walk to the fall there were 2 fallen tree on the path. One of which you have...

A good place for skipping rocks, and a great place for skipping-rocks!

Some of the ones I found even had interesting fossilized material. I didn’t get in the river myself, but it was very peaceful and cool, and lots of people enjoyed swimming in it while I was there.

There are plenty of shaded forest trails good for a short hike, and the wide, asphalt path is good for running, as long as you don’t mind the sun.

I encountered a wide variety of wildlife while hiking, including woodpeckers, chipmunks, gray squirrels, red-breasted robins, and even a handsome garter snake! As you walk, make sure not to squish the many interesting bugs going about their business on the forest floor.

Despite the general abundance of critters, I encountered very few mosquitoes and flies, although I can only speak for my one visit in early July.

Overall, an impressively natural park for being only 15 minutes by car from the airport!

I did find a large, serrated kitchen knife in the shallows, but that seemed...

If you like going there please read this that happened to me. First to all I want to say it’s nice and clean area it is 5-star. What happened to me one time is that I was sitting at one of those picnic tables near river at the park, of course the table is enough to 6-7 people. There was a family who came and started putting their stuffs to sit there when I was still there sitting. I didn’t say anything first because I thought they just trying to get all stuffs right but they came to sit. So I looked at them and ask are they serious , they ask me back “ what ?” I told them nicely that I’m sitting here and their response was “ this is a big table for a family”. Well, I didn’t want to argue and left and they shook their heads. It doesn’t matter how many people a table can fit. If someone sits there, maybe at least asking nicely. It was just rude as disrespectful. If there was a smaller table for one, I would go and sit but wasn’t. So if u go there, please don’t...
