Where do I even begin with my utterly disappointing experience at Caribbean Cinemas movie theater? From the moment I set foot inside this abysmal establishment, it became apparent that I had entered a realm of incompetence and disrespect that I had never witnessed before. As a local, and a person who takes pride in being from the VI, and a business owner myself, I was embarrassed at the joke that is this business.
First and foremost, I was excited to take my daughter to see "The Little Mermaid," and believed it would be an amazing bonding experience for my daughter and I. However, the theater is nothing short of a disaster. The doors swung open in the most untimely fashion imaginable, as if they couldn't even be bothered to be punctual. The lack of organization and professionalism was evident right from the start, setting the tone for what would be an evening of regret and frustration.
The service, if I can even call it that, was beyond abysmal. The workers seemed to take pride in their terrible attitudes, treating customers with disdain and contempt. Their apathetic demeanor made it abundantly clear that they couldn't care less about providing a pleasant movie-going experience. It was as if they were doing us a favor by allowing us into their poorly managed establishment.
Let's talk about the food, or should I say "food-like substances," because what was served at this theater barely qualified as edible. The popcorn tasted stale and had clearly been sitting out for days, devoid of any flavor or freshness. And don't even get me started on the soda—it was so watered down that it might as well have been colored tap water. How they managed to ruin such simple concessions is beyond me.
In an attempt to rectify their countless shortcomings, the theater staff resorted to bribery. They offered me five free tickets as if that would magically make up for the horrible experience. Foolishly, I accepted the offer, thinking it might salvage my evening, and it did not!
Caribbean Cinemas is a disgrace to the world of cinema. From the disrespectful staff to the deplorable food, there is not a single redeeming quality about this place. Save yourself the agony and avoid this theater at all costs. Your time and money are better spent elsewhere, where you can actually enjoy a movie without feeling like you've been subjected to a...
Read moreSome movies leave the theater sooner than normal, while others never show up. I had seen in the coming soon section that "September 5" was coming soon. But the day I wanted to see it, it dissappeared from the linup. Also wanted to see "Twisters" but it was gone after week 2. There was advertisement for "It Ends With Us" but on the release date it wasn't available.
I noticed that the seats were replaced. That's a nice touch, makes the experience more comfortable than previously. A few viewing rooms smell like mold. The popcorn however is inconsistently good. There has been more than one occasion where the popcorn was stale. Staff was productive and helpful, while other times they have been rude. The concessions moves unbelievably slow. There are 3 places to take orders and more often than not they only use one.
There have been a few instances where unattended children, about 14 years or younger, have been unruly in the theater. They were loud, disruptive, and had no respect for other movie goers. I understand that really, only the parent can handle these kinds of problems, but ushers or attendants could always ask them to leave.
I love the movies and I truly hope to see an improvement. Besides all the complaints experience is...
Read moreThe customer service here was horrible. I am visiting and love going to the movies but this was the worse experience. The manager had a nasty attitude, if you purchase things on line you will still have to wait in the long concession line. There is no benefit. They did not have what I paid for on line and refused to give a refund, when I asked for juice because I don't drink soda, and they did not have the iced tea I paid for, and refused to give me a refund... they forced me to to drink water or pay $ 2.75 on top of what I already paid to get a bottle of juice. They were rude from the door, did not have the machine plugged in to print the ticket, kept telling me to just touch the screen. When the manager realized the machine was not plugged in she plugged it in with no apology. The person seated behind me kept kicking my chair. Keep in mind this is 2D which is posted but wasn't expecting. The picture is not high definition. The theater is dated and the...
