I stopped by North Ridge Park around noon on a hot July day. It was slightly overcast, but still very warm. Thankfully, the playground has large canopies that offer great shade and make the equipment somewhat cooler to the touch. Such a helpful feature for Texas summers!
The play area also has a soft, bouncy surface that’s perfect for little kids. There’s a covered pavilion with picnic tables and restrooms, plus paved trails, more picnic tables under the trees, and even BBQ pits.
It’s tucked into a neighborhood, so I imagine it gets good use by local families. Overall, a clean, well-thought-out space and it would be a great spot for a birthday party or small gathering. Definitely...
Read moreSome idiots are giving the park a negative review because they went to the church next door and did not like it. This is a positive review of this small neighborhood park. It has a great kids area with many modern jungle gym climbing apparatus all with a cushioning floor mat throughout. Next to that is a covered picnic area with very clean men's and women's bathrooms. The rest of the park has several nice picnic stations and each has a picnic bench, a garbage can, and the park style BBQ grill. It is also next to a softball field. The city parks department takes good care of this park and maintains it well. What is not to love about this...
Read moreOn May 6, 2024 I went to the park with a 7 year I babysit. There was an older man trying to do martial arts weapons forms. He seemed drunk & unsure of what he was doing. The guy was using 2 machetes & a long handle garden tool.
There is always someone sleeping under the Pavillion. Either on the cement or on a picnic table. There is one older man who sits & watches the children.
