Perhaps I’m wrong!

While I agree that this is a beautiful library, I was overwhelmed by the disrespectful loud noise ...in a library. Seriously???

** A woman on her cell phone certainly was not speaking in a hushed tone.

** A screaming infant and an ignorant woman pushing the stroller less than a foot back & forth, clearly not helpful.

** A library employee visiting loudly with another female.

** Also OUR tax dollars built this library (and all others). Please explain to me why we have to pay and rent a private room and who really needs that big of a room? They do not provide small private quiet rooms & refuse to require quiet in the library. I have never encountered this & I think it is ridiculous.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but aren’t libraries suppose to...

I was extremely impressed by this library!

They offered two large rooms for “quiet areas” where the doors can be shut along with an entire wall of tables for studying. (Edited to say that in my experience they are always taken no matter what time I arrive.)

There’s even a cute “bike and read” section where you can…cycle indoors while reading.

The bathrooms were clean and well-lit. They have cute little displays all around with themes like “Spring Cleaning” and an assortment of cleaning books.

Edited to say I really wish libraries would enforce the quiet/whispering rule that was standard. It seems not be a thing in San Antonio. I should not hear conversations all around through the noise cancellation...

My 5 year old and I enjoyed our time here. We made it for Family Story Time. I enjoyed the story time, my son enjoyed the activities after; such as coloring, building, and pretend play. We then read some books, played on the kids computer(there are adult computers and printer) and little toys by the kids couches, looked around and saw you can bicycle while you read on the adult side, and there is a Teens side. My son then rented his books with his own library card. I appreciate that he can have his own card to check out books and return them at any SA Library. There is also a playground there. The building isn't huge but there is much to do for everyone. My son can't...

This is a 4.5, so i rounded up. This is a terrific local library branch. The building is super cool, looks like it was built in a modern style, so its very unique looking. The selection for kids is plentiful, but a lot of the good options are frequently out. The library makes up for it though because it has a terrific little playground for kids there. And there is a lovely “storybook walk” next to the playground where you walk a little trail and read a book along the way. This time they had the Black Rabbit by Philippa Leathers. It was cute; reminded me a little of the Gruffalo.

I really enjoy visiting the Parman library. Beautiful area inside and out. Librarians very helpful and was nice and clean inside the restroom as well. Love the trail in the back of the library. So peaceful. During Christmas they have the trail behind the library set up w/decorations and a walking story book w/pictures of a book for the children to read. Excellent idea for family to engage in along the pathway. They also have a playground and a few picnic tables for family with children.
