The small park statue is cool, and the plaque explains how it connects the cultures of the pacific like Russia, China, and the America's. It seems like the pearl was meant to have a fountain running in it and that wasn't on or running, and the nearby map placard is in serious need of refreshing as it's been weathered by the sun and sea. Otherwise, neat sculpture to check out if you're on Shelter Island

I’ve lived in San Diego for years and just stumbled upon this charming spot by chance while strolling to the end of a cul-de-sac. It’s a perfect little stop for photos! Located in a cul-de-sac, it offers plenty to see and do! Plenty of parking spots. No ticket needed.

Beautiful views all around, not good for sunset view, but the view of San Diego downtown is quite nice as it is still lit from the sun. This location is tucked away in the shadow of Point Loma. A neat spot, be sure to ring the Friendship bell!

I absolutely love it here! The Pacific Rim Park is situated at the most southern point of Shelter Island. Here you have an excellent vantage point of the mouth of San Diego Bay. I love to sit here and watch all of the ships entering and leaving the Bay as well as listening the the sea lions across the Bay over at the Navy Base Point Loma. Here is also the place of my favorite statue- Pacific Spirit! I can not tell you how many photos I have taken of her over the years. I also recommend walking the trail which will take you over to the Shelter Island Pier and if you venture a bit farther, Shelter Island...

Nice spot to hang out, grab a breakfast burrito or sandwich, coffee from BetterBuzz and watch the boats head out. I like fishing here, you’ll need a license to fish off the rocks but if you fish off the pier you should be fine. Get here early if you want to fish off the pier, plenty of parking. There is a bait and tackle shop called Fathom if you forget or lose all your weights fishing 🫡. Be respectful and take anything you bring, respect our waters and they’ll provide....
