Salon Monarca — Attraction in San Diego

I made a contract for this hall on Oct 2017 with Cynthia. My party was not until September 2018. The hall was transfer to another person named Georgina. My contract said that I needed to pay in full by August which is 30 days before my event. When the hall got transfer to the new manager (Georgina) she texted me saying that I haven’t made any payment. That she had another person interested in my date. This was 3 months before my event. Not 30 days before. I didn’t respond to her message because I was driving at that time and than forgot to respond. Days later I talked to her and she said she rented the hall to someone else because I didn’t responded to her message. I told her, “I’m sorry, but in my contract it says It needs to be paid 30 days prior to the event”. She had to move the other person to another date. She is so unprofessional, never gave me receipt when I was giving her cash deposit. She said it’s not necessary. I felt stressed and worried if this person was going to even have my date available. The day before my event she had to open the hall for me to take stuff in and she wasn’t there. The day of the event she opens the hall for us until 12pm. How stressful. The hall had a lot of broken chairs and damage which we took pictures and video. I had a feeling she wasn’t going to give us back our deposit and yes that happened. She said we broke some chairs and that’s what the deposits for. She sent some pictures of a broken chair, that could of been one of the ones that was broken already. Avoid This Venue at All Costs - Terrible Service and Conditions!

I'm still fuming as I write this review about the worst sweet sixteen experience I've ever had. The venue and staff were a disaster from start to finish. The woman at the bar was rude! She spent the night chatting with a waiter, completely neglecting her job and providing terrible service. The air conditioning didn't work, making the venue unbearably hot. The DJ was hoarse and struggled to speak, and the music was a mess. The Photo Booth arrived hours late, and when it finally did, the pictures were poorly taken with many faces cut out. The bathroom was disgusting, with a stall closed due to a terrible smell that lingered throughout the venue. A line had formed due to the lack of stalls for my guests.The bartenders' drinks were boring and overpriced, and they pushed unnecessary drink packages on us. To top it off, they claimed to have "run out" of cups, forcing us to buy more, only to use a fraction of them. The owner, Mrs. Rocío, was dismissive and unprofessional when I complained about the issues. She didn't care about ruining my special day and seemed more interested in getting our money. The prices were misleading, and they didn't deliver on what was promised. If you value your special day, stay far away from this venue. The staff are petty, rude, and unprofessional. The conditions are unacceptable, and the service is terrible. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Do not! I repeat do not book this venue for any special event!As a business owner myself I could never treat or disrespect people in the way the owner&daughter treated my guest and vendors. Owner &daughter both are rude&misleading and do not deliver on their word. They continued all night to disrespect my own vendor and guest with comments and face gestures. They wouldn’t even serve my own vendor food or water even when we had plenty of food extra and we requested they do so! Bar service is terrible. Drinks are made poorly with no flavor or bar experience,they promise 100 cups for guest but yet force you to purchase additional cups 30 min into your event start time. Mind you that the bar wasn’t even available yet! The dj messed up our special dance multiple times not just once. Food is unseason and raw! &the cake was wrong too!!We received the wrong flavors for all 4 cakes! I will never recommend this hall to anyone! Do not trust these people with ur special day or trust there word. They do not care nor want to make your day special! Waiter&security were the only real professional that day and for them I am greatful but to the actual people running the show I do not recommend doing business with.
