We have gone twice to Immaculata. I so very much appreciate that no matter where you sit, even in the last row farthest away from the Altar and Tabernacle, the sound is crystal clear. This is important to me to be able to adequately hear and engage in the Liturgy of the Mass and all of the Readings and the Homily. Fr. Matthew Spahr prepares intelligent Homilies, well correlated to the Readings, with easy to grasp application to our day to day lives. The Edifice is quite spectacular, and the singing at the 9:00 AM Mass is beautiful, which contributes greatly to a sense of reverence. Our experience is that people are respectful of those around them who are silently praying in preparation for Mass, which is so rare it seems in other parishes! As is expected, since Immaculata is at the USD campus, parking is challenging because there is construction on the campus, and signage is not visible to direct where to park. GPS takes you in a way that is not helpful. Parking close/next to the Church was completely full 15 minutes before Mass. Other parking was equivalent to about 1 to 2 blocks away, on broad campus pathways, so plan accordingly. It is definitely worth a visit, just even for the cultural experience, but especially for the Mass so beautifully...
Read moreAttended Easter mass and had no problems with parking or seating. It's a warm and welcoming parish where all were greeted warmly. The cruciform architecture is on proud display with stunning stained glass filling the clerestory in every section. The church has incredible attention to detail everywhere you look without seeming gawdy. It is beautifully maintained. But that is just a building. The true beauty of a church is better measured by its members and it's culture which comes from parish leadership. Everyone we met and saw interacted with genuinely welcoming hearts and were very gracious, all while being inundated with newcomers and nonparish members. If you have the chance, add this to your list of places to visit whether you wish to attend mass or seek a quiet moment...
Read moreWell this church is really beautiful. I like it from the outside and inside. My cousin got Merry few months ago and was a really good experience been one of the groomsmen. That day we practice everything that we had learn and we did a great job. When my cousin step in with her now his wife I started to cry because everything was so perfect. The thing that I didn’t know is now getting married is a Job? Why? Keep in mind that the Church that you choose-you have to find your own priest that is willing to marry you there since they only provide there own priests but if you go to that church won’t be a problem. Price? I think the price that they paid was ok, I can’t complain about it. Plus it was for a...
