Global Escape SD ( Escape Room Police ) — Local services in San Diego

I have been to four different escape room experiences and this is by FAR the WORST. We were so disappointed, it was an absolute waste of money. We did the Wizard Game escape room. This room was impossible, not because it was a difficult escape room, but because the clues didnt make sense. There was no story, you’re just dropped in a room. Nothing about it was Harry Potter themed, not the clues, not the props, and there is nothing magical about it. You are given 3 hints to use during the escape room. We had to use all 3, none of them were helpful and one of them was extremely misleading and was not worded correctly by the guy running the maze. Because this hint was so misleading we would never have gotten the answer and we were forced to use our last hint because of this.

As I mentioned, we have done other escape rooms. And although we did not successfully escape all of them, We were always at least happy with our experience and had fun trying to solve puzzles together. I can’t emphasize how NOT FUN this escape room was. It felt boring and lazy, and I am confident that their Police Escape room is just as lazy and just as lackluster. I’m sure there are many other escape rooms in San Diego that are more worthy of your time and money. Please do not be enticed by the “Harry Potter” theme. This is clearly a cheap marketing gimmick because as I mentioned almost nothing in the escape room is remotely related to harry Potter or magic. If you need a Harry Potter fix go to Universal studios, if you are looking for a fun movie themed escape room I suggest the SAW Eacape Room in Las Vegas if youre just looking for a fun escape room I suggest looking anywhere...

Pros: *it was a short drive from my house. *Game conductor was friendly *Game conductor gave us the option to switch games, advising us that the wizard room was very difficult. 3 hints

Cons: outside and inside of facility look sketchy. No sign for Wizard room. Inside dirty: stairs, bathroom etc… Price to play for quality too much Wizard theme was subpar (decor etc) No real story line Materials and puzzles need improvement 3 hints were not explained affectively and/or did not make sense.

On 8/3/24 My family and I, we are 2 adults and an 8 year old, have been to a handful of escape rooms and have been challenged with both "easy" and "hard" rooms. Some which we have conquered, some we have not. We do these for the thrill, experience and family bonding fun, not necessarily if we esacpe or not. We thought we would try the Wizard theme at this location, since we have not tried a theme of that sort yet. My first impression of the location was, are we sure we want to go in because it looks sketchy. With that, I am a bit confused on all the great reviews, which did help influence us coming here, but maybe our expectations from prior experiences were high, because this location fell far below what we were expecting for a Wizard themed escape room. From the puzzles themselves to the decor, it just felt low budget. I would not recommend coming to this location, there are better escape rooms for the same price...

I have done 20+ escape rooms and this was easily the worst of them all. The police room had no redeeming qualities, and I do not recommend this room to anyone at all.

1. Safety: We were actually locked into the room. We were not informed that the door was actually locked and there was no emergency release. If there had been an emergency, there was no way for us to get out.
2. Puzzles: The puzzles were EXTREMELY linear. There were two of us, and any more would have been too many. The clues were not intuitive, and three separate times we were blocked because a clue was behind a physical impediment, like a prop that opened with a great deal of force (after specifically being told not to use excessive force).
3. Staff: When we asked for a hint, he didn't know what parts of the room we had or hadn't done. He very clearly wasn't watching us, which made me VERY concerned when I realized the door had been locked the whole time.
4. Story and ambience: This was easily the sparsest, least decorated, most barren escape room I've ever been in. The clues didn't fit into the "story", and there was no cohesion or plot...
