Rose Donuts has been a Linda Vista icon for over two decades. The "staff" consists of one very familiar woman whom I have seen virtually every single time that I have been there ; a very polite woman who is a superb baker. Rose Donuts prepares perhaps the best regular donuts that I have ever had - bar none others - in San Diego. They have at least twenty different kinds of confections; their creme filled bars are bursting with vanilla creme; their lemon, strawberry and raspberry filled delicacies are a connoisseur's delight and their apple fritters are a meal in themselves! Rose serves some best tasting deli breakfast sandwiches, as well as other deli sandwiches; their 'Vietnamese coffee," as well as a number of other specials coffees rival the Starbucks Store across the street however, Starbuck's reputation draws myriad customers into their stores - they have that "magnetic appeal"- then again some Starbucks are much better than others ( It is a known fact amongst giant retail chain stores: The Linda Vista Starbucks is replete with "cheap students" who buy one small cup of coffee; meanwhile these selfish millennials spend all day at a table focused only on their laptops leaving other customers standing in the blue .Some Starbucks coffee houses have had to remove their computer hookups to get rid of these spoiled stuck up wealthy brats! In fact this store ripped me off for $4.50 that I gave them to help them with a change shortage; when I came back the next day to ask for my money, no one remembered me! Rose Donuts is far better than the corner Starbucks. They also sell all flavours of sodas for only $1, as well as regular milk and five flavours of Nestle low fat milk drinks. Usually the interior of Rose is guite clean; the ambience presents a relaxed feeling and the cute little outside patio has allowed me to sit alone and focus on my upcoming day or night. There are no restrooms however, such are inconsequential in this type of business atmosphere. You can text Rose Donuts for an order, or you can just drive up, park in front of the store and just walk in, complete an order and take it home to enjoy. It is also frequented by several San Diego Padres players, the local community police ( The Western Division.), Mission Valley YMCA members and a host of Linda Vista's community leaders. Rose Donuts is the place go,where you won't waste your...

The ladies at Rose Donuts will impress you with their delicious donuts and stellar customer service.

I love this place. I had a temporary work gig in mission valley and during that time I would often stop by Rose's in the morning for some coffee and a raspberry donut. One of the ladies got to know me and once she saw me in line, she would start to grab what I wanted while I waited in line- raspberry donut, coffee and just the right amount of creamer. Every so often I would change it up and get something different. What was really nice was that they had such a wide variety of options beyond donuts. Their bagel choices were so delicious as well as their muffins.

The donuts were great but what I really loved was the genuine sense of pride and friendliness. They always said Hi and had a friendly smile. I no longer work in the area but the next time Im down there I'll probably stop in.

This is a true mom/pop type business. Those ladies are in there EARLY making fresh donuts and living the life. If you're going to support a local business this is a great shop that deserves...

I don't get donuts very often, so I can't compare Rose Donuts to any other. It has been a long, long time since I have been to a Donut shop. Truth is I am not sure this should qualify as a "donut" shop because of the extended menu of sandwiches (breakfast and lunch), beverages and treats. However, I can say that I received very good service, it was clean, and the donuts (about $1 each for a dozen) were very good. There is a decent selection of donuts. Having driven by many times I have noticed that it is rare for Rose Donuts to be empty. This says something about their quality and prices as they are across the corner from a Starbucks, and they suffer from a small parking lot. I will need to stop in some time for lunch. Rose Donuts does not have a printed menu or a web page for a menu, but the lady behind the counter stated I was welcome to take photos. They are attached. I have shaky hands and must apologize for the poor quality. I hope they prove useful.

We flew into town on a Thursday to prepare for my sister’s wedding on Sunday. I stopped into Rose’s to inquire about 4 dozen donuts for the wedding dessert table. The staff was amazing! Didn’t even flinch at the idea of having 4 dozen glazed donuts ready for 11am pickup on Sunday. They were extremely helpful with picking flavors and recommendations. The shop is very inviting, clean, very efficiently run… even with a line out the door they get everyone served with smiles on their faces and laughter in the air. The smell of donuts, croissants, muffins, and cookies is amazing! Do yourself a favor and also grab a breakfast sandwich. The Country Croissant is so good! We came back twice during our stay in the area. Highly recommend!!

I love apple fritters. I try them everywhere we go!. I was excited to see a highly rated (4.7 at the time of this post) noting the apple fritters as a star. Unfortunately I was not overly impressed. To me (and everyone is different) I felt it was average based on: Price: $2.95 for the large is higher than average Size. The large is an average size Apple. There was literally 4 small cubes. This is below average both in amount, size and taste. Fry. Above average. Nice and crispy on the outside. Moist and fluffy inside Spice. Below average. It appeared well spiced, but it didn't taste that way. Possibly the spice is old? Glaze. Too much for me, so below average
