Walnut Creek Trail — Attraction in San Dimas

Grew up comming here, theres a few different entrances and exits. I'm not sure the total miles of the full loop it's decently long. The terrain isn't terrible except a couple areas. Starting by via Verde/ the freeway is harder because its a major slope. The parking lot that's down valley center is easiest I think. You can go either direction and walk back. The water level got higher last year but continues to go back down again. When I was a kid you could swim in this part with a swing. It's no longer safe or sanitary....

This trail hides society pretty well. The landscape makes you feel like you are in Jurassic Park at times. At some points you are at the back of some large houses but it hardly takes away from the scene. Unfortunately, there is some graffiti at some spots (if you can call it that). About every half mile on the trail you have to cross the stream which kind of adds some fun to it, however, makes it a bit difficult to have a decent run. It seems moderately trafficked by everyone from hoodlums to dogs...

Absolutely beautiful and a very good hiking trail going back up the second round has me huffing and puffing very good workout and such a beautiful scenery 😇 ok so lately we have seen a small lion cub twice not sure if we should be worried since it’s summer maybe they come for the water in the river but def scared us haha don’t want to run into the momma mountain lion but still love to go here just be aware of your...
