San Francisco | Top Parks & Trails for Biking [Fire emoji] In recent years, cycling has become a trendy sport, and on sunny days, it's common to see both adults and kids hitting the road together, with families teaming up for bike outings. [Star emoji] Here are some bike-friendly parks and trails in San Francisco. Grab your little riders and pedal forward! [1] McLaren Bike Park [Star emoji] A half-acre bike park in San Francisco [Star emoji] This park features amenities suitable for beginners and more challenging terrains for experienced riders. Future developments include advanced bike features such as flow trails, berms, progressive tabletops, dirt jumps, wooden ladders, wall rides, and pump tracks. 📍2050 Sunnydale Ave, San Francisco, CA 94134 [2] Golden Gate Park [Star emoji] This year, a 1.5-mile stretch of JFK Drive in Golden Gate Park has been permanently closed to vehicles. The road is mostly flat with occasional small inclines, making it a great place for beginners and young children to build confidence and practice skills. 📍501 Stanyan St, San Francisco, CA 94117 [3] Slow Streets [Star emoji] In addition to Golden Gate Park, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency has designated nearly 30 streets as Slow Streets. [Star emoji] These streets are marked with signs and barriers to minimize vehicle traffic, creating a safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists. Take some time to explore these streets on your bike! [4] Mission Creek Park [Star emoji] Ride through Mission Creek Park and take in the beautiful views of the bay. [Star emoji] The park features a half-mile-long, tiled, wide path that provides ample space for kids to ride. [Red heart emoji] You can enter from Channel between 4th and 5th Streets or Berry Street.

Hours have changed. Spring/Summer: Wed-Sun 10:00 am-7:00pm. Fall/Winter: Wed-Sunday 10:00 am-5:00 pm. McLaren Bike Park is located in the Sunnydale projects. From my observations, this bike park is not used much weekdays but the weekend is active. The track is split level and is equipped with 2 ramps. The track is good enough for a practice warm up but is not a full distance run with obstacles and bumper cones.

Took the 5 year old who’s been riding peddle bikes for a couple years and a two year old who has only stared on a Strider bike a month or so ago. It was 10:30 in the morning and it was pretty empty. There was a 3.5 year old and another 5 year old on peddle bikes. My 5 year old just started riding with them. My two year old also had a great time riding the bumps on his balance bike.

There was a staff there repairing some storm damage. He was very friendly and said there is usually a staff member monitoring. An adult mountain biker came along going the wrong way on the track. The staff stopped him immediately and explained to him the rules before he continued in the right direction. That was great when you have a bunch of little riders in the track.

The track is for beginners and intermediate riders. It is small enough that you can see the entire track from anywhere in the bike park. I hope to bring the kids back in a...

The park is set to expand in the future I believe and become even larger which will make it that much better. Also, the staff is excelent that was there for the bike summer camp and to maintain...
